I guess we could use some new material some time, huh?

Torpor Snails should be peaceful if you're a Chei worshiper.

>trees in a volcano
wut

i too was confused

Unfortunately this genre and general don't really generate huge swathes of OC outside of the material which is used in the games.

...

what to do
i have barely any resists, a +3 demon tri of draining, +5 ring of slay, +4 am of reflection

If you're that merfolk aquire armor, you got shit so far. You're still too squishy to gamble for wands, but that slaying ring will offset the shitty weapon

So, I've gotten wins with every UC skill title except Featherweight Champion. My choices for that are Halfing, Kobold, and Tengu.

Opinions on which would be easiest? I'm leaning towards Tengu if only for the aptitudes.

Halfling for the not-shit HP and good armor apts
Also slings are way better than people give them credit for

I would go tengu.

i accidentally pressed 'i' after switching back to the game, and got fucking gold
at least i picked this up from elven halls 1

KOBOLD

>fedhas cares only for mold!

Damn it i faulted again

Also fun to see that all lvl27 characters on my highscore list were killed by hellfire

>worship Fedhas
>thorn hunters and shambling mangroves are pacified
It would be pretty neat if you could get them as allies.

Also, I dicked around in wizard mode last night and the enchanted forest can be explored, but exiting it takes you to a random place in the Vaults.

You have to be real careful in statue form. The 1.5 delay is actually lethal if you're at low HP. Surprised you didn't potion petition or quaff HW. RIP my favorite sister fister.

>>worship Fedhas
>>thorn hunters and shambling mangroves are pacified

>but exiting it takes you to a random place in the Vaults
You do know how the forest branch used to work, right?

Tornado > Shatter confirmed.

It would be neat, but they are also some of the only interesting monsters in Swamp so it would be kind of lame to never fight them as fedhas.

>one vote for each

Huh. I guess they're all alright?

Felid

>1
>7

I've seen worse.

...

just cleared d:15
now what?
fucking nikola is on swamps 2 or 3 and i have no rElec
spider almost raped me also

Do you have a potion of res on you? Didja do Orc?

yes and yes
forgot about res pots actually

Felids get their own unique UC titles.

>chei gets mad if you use a speed brand weapon
>chei is fine if your natural weapon skill allows you to attack super quickly

Explain this shit.

Having another go at this human sorcerer again. You have *so* much mana early, with the decrease-mana of the wizardstaff and the regeneration spell. I've been hunting for xp in the wilderness mostly so far. Probably will finish my early 2 quests and continue to range in swamps near morivant, maybe pop into forest and try to pick some non-fire hound packs or something.

because chei babbies would cry about it if he didn't let your weapon speed improve
also chei improving your EV (via dex) doesn't make any sense since you would dodge much fewer attacks if you had slowed movement

Jessica just dropped a +5 club. Girl's got game.

Protip: Daemon has the best first-book offensive spells. It has a weak ball spell with mana-typed damage, and a powerful single-target spell with disintegration-typed damage. Neither of those types are resisted by what you should be fighting at the levels they're available.

It happens in the game, though. It'd probably make Fedhas better if you could gain them as allies anywhere (they're merely pacified in the swamp), but that's just me as I'm still new to the game.

Shows what I know about Fedhas.

>You're slower so you should dodge worse
I always figured it was something akin to the drunken style of Kung Fu
Just taking it so easy you sleaze your way past all the attacks
You take a nap and the LCS flies over you

and now
to swamp
or something

I always took Chei dodges to be slowmo matrix dives.

Chei teaches you to be like water, and dodge attacks with a minimum of motion so that you can take it easy. You just kind of gently move out of the way as if it was luck.

I think you're thinking of daemon book 2. Book 1 is MAgic Missile, Detect Unlife, Evil BBless, Resist Fire, Horrify, Nether Bolt, Summon Manes, and Hellish Flame (which is maybe good enough? "Fires a ball of evil power. Hurts good monsters greatly." dealing 3d6+21 at my current level and for 9 sp, 24% fail. ehh...)

I have been considering carrying a magic missile book though, since it's more efficient than Lightning Bolt, but I think it would be almost the only thing I'd use it for. If Hellish Flame is good maybe I'll use Daemon for that and mm. I'll carry it a bit and see. But I think you're thinking of book 2.

Chei prohibits unnecessary haste. That is, going faster than is natural. He's okay with creatures that are normally fast being faster, and creatures that are normally not-slow being not-slow. They get less benefit from him, but that's because they don't take it as easy as some do. The reason he slows his most pious worshippers down is because he believes taking it easy to be a blessing.
>also chei improving your EV (via dex) doesn't make any sense since you would dodge much fewer attacks if you had slowed movement
Dexterity is economy of movement. Spriggans/Felids/Halfings have naturally high dex and naturally high EV because they have a lot less to move around. Vice versa for the larger races. Chei, in teaching you to take it easy, teaches you to dodge better with less movement. Presumably, you do that wuxia thing where they just sway out of the way, deflect attacks, or take the blow so well it doesn't hurt them at all.

Sorry, I meant Chaos' first book. The spells are Mana Burst and Fist of Force, respectively.

shoutout to the user who suggested formicid
this is awesome

make sure you get a vorpal axe of distortion

Where is your shield user

naw i am solid set for a good while with that axe, all i need is a better shield than the +2 buckler i just found and I am in

literally found it 4 turns after that on the ground
for now it's all i got

>Formicid
>No shield
You wot?

and theres another
also
ten turns later
_Put on which piece of jewellery? (? for menu, Esc to quit)
_R - a +5 amulet of reflection (around neck)
time to fuck up

Don't be afraid to go to 15 Shield skill: it takes less than a branch's worth of EXP, and all that fake-EV makes up for not actually having any EV because of your heavy armor.

15 shields will get him to large shields, so he really has no reason not to.

This is Ketziah. I don't think anything is too obvious to state.

>This trove needs a gf to function.

Playing mages is so annoying. Having to hem and haw while slowly picking off popcorn when a melee character could just hold down tab is annoying.

They ought to be removed.

dare i finish elf:3?
somehow i've been poking my way through elf easily, finished shoals and spider already
i only have 2 MR pips

>mages are bloat early game
>tablords are bloat late game
When will we get a god that can give tablords a Tornado equivalent so that we can just remove mages entirely?

>i only have 2 MR pips
I hope you like the Abyss

too good

Tornado a shit! A shiiiiiiiiiit!

2 MR is pushing it. 3 is really the magic number

Cheibriados. Qazlal. Possibly Uskayaw.

i'm a gambling man myself

>that axe
>with a shield
>god of tabbing
>that ring
If you splat this you should ctrl+q IRL.

run dude thats like 400+ damage possible ni a turn not counting summons

>two-handed polearms STILL aren't piercing types
Have the devil's team ever explained this particular bit of mental illness? What is the point of having THREE (3) slashing weapon types and ZERO (0) piercing types?

If I wanted to swing around a pole with an axehead, I would fucking use axes.

a two handed str

what a nice party this will be

>That's so "Formicid with more SH than AC and EV combined"
And where the fuck did you find a large shield so early

Please explain to me how weapons with the shape that halberds, glaives, and bardiches have are supposed to be effectively used as a piercing weapon.

>urug in full armor
enough of this heresy

What? I'm referring to the bludgeoning/slashing/piercing triangle, not a 2-for-1 attack effect.

Aw, how cute. They're trying to be vault guards.

>>>>>>>If I wanted to swing around a pole with an axehead, I would fucking use axes.
Halberds, glaives, and bardiches can go right to hell.

>Halberds, glaives, and bardiches can go right to hell.
Too late, tridents already got there and they cornered the market.

Name some alternate large polearms.

how can you see your skills, abilities and enemies like that ?

Playing offline, aka download the client

>literally tabbing through norris without realizing while watching seinfeld
the fault approaches

Not him, but lucerne hammer, lance, spetum. All very piercey looking weapons

Tabbing through dangerous uniques is always such a weird feeling
You know you should've paid attention, you know you shouldn't be alive, but damn it feels good to have gotten this strong

Big-ass lance like Wyrmbane or some of these random wiki'd spears:

>no billhook
gay

Shut the fuck up disgusting earthfag.

>Derived originally from the agricultural billhook, the bill consisted of a hooked chopping blade with several pointed projections mounted on a staff.
>a hooked chopping blade
>chopping
>piercing type

Think about how awesome it would be if Urug turned out to be the final boss of the game, and you didn't have to slog through 20 more levels.

All different names for the same weapon. It depends on the head of the armament, be it halberd, bardiche, spear, lance, or war fork.

How do I manage what to keep on me and what to leave behind? My bag keeps piling up with drops that I can't decide whether to keep or leave behind.

>all pole weapons are the same weapon because they have poles
>staves are spears

if you arent going to use it or if you have multiples of a wand with a decent charge leave em some where. jewelry is a bog offender too, try and gauge what you will need based on the branch you are tackling

Still new and this is the farthest I have ever been so I don't know when I will need what res.

>ranseur
>xyston
>sarissa
>not just a renamed pike
Immediate suicide is suggested

well whatever you do dont go in tomb without n+++ and alot of ways to heal yourself and escape. there has to be other places you can go and clear besides there
