we don't have enough information about r8 skills but what I can tell you is that rodelero and not peltasta is the one that synergizes with murmillo.

having pelt is extremely good but you only really need one circle of it to be useful. Rodelero 3 on the other hand boost all your strike skills which murmillo has.

pelt too, but rodelelro skills are stronger with the slithering and high kick bonuses

It's not that they didn't dropped items. They dropped the wrong items. More specifically the Tenet Church Yognome items. That means they dropped mithril ores as well.

It falls off hard in late game with no SPR. If you have SPR though, it is a beast of a skill.

You could take a point from res and it in SS for your Tank if you feel like it but it's not needed.
