So, I just remembered that tray files for sims were shared a lot in the past couple of generals and I wanted to make a post detailing how to get them to work if there's a version difference.
>HOW TO USE TRAY FILES THAT HAVE A MISMATCHED VERSION
>Step 1 Download the tray files of your choice. Don't put them into your tray folder yet.
>Step 2 Go into TS4. Create a generic family with the same amount of sims you've just downloaded (not sure if this has to be exact but do it just to be safe)
>Step 3 Save the generic family. Make sure you note what time you've saved this family into your folder.
>Step 4 Exit the game and navigate to the tray folder in your Sims 4 folder. Find the files that match the family you just created. It should have the time and date that was just saved.
>Step 5 Use the files you've just made and copy their filenames over the corresponding files in the downloaded sims tray files. There should be 5 files total.
>Step 7 Delete the generic family tray files out of the main tray folder. Move the renamed downloaded tray files into your tray.
>Step 8 Start up the game. The downloaded sims should now work with your version! Have fun!

How do I get rid of screen tearing in The Sims 3? Running it on a Radeon HD 7870. Tried with 3booter and FPS_limiter, it's horrible and present everywhere. I tried without it and with AMD's Radeon thingie setting the framerate at 60, there's still tearing at the bottom third of the screen right below a weird line, which someone worries me more than tearing all over the screen. If I run both at once, the weird line is instead at the top third of the screen. Playing without those I get 1700 FPS and a very mad GPU fan. Send help.

That's a really good idea. Personally, I'd love a mod that turns them off from initial load. I've never found them helpful or interesting, they just always look out of place and ugly.

ONLY RENAME THE HHI and HOUSEHOLDBINARY FILES

the steps are as follows and ignore the ones above
1. take the generic household's filenames for the .hhi and .householdbinary files and paste the names unto the corresponding downloaded tray files
2. then delete the generic family files and move the copied files over to the tray

This was the original post that had directions that I can find
[[1. Make a single sim household w/ one young adult female, same name, traits, household name as copgirl's 2. Find the tray files for the household you just made 3. Rename copgirl's .householdbinary and .hhi(s) tray files with the filenames for the household you made 4. Copypaste copgirl's files over]]
Maybe you have to make 8 sims with the same names and traits? Ugh. This is too friggin complicated.

Pasted your SGI files. Kept my HHI and TRAYITEM. Copied your HOUSEHOLDBINARY file and gave it my file name.

Well I think Windenburg architecture is supposed to be French or something but for the most part, yeah. Oasis springs reminds me alot of spanish-american traditional houses. Willow creek's houses are almost plantation-esque. Newcrest is modern/urban you'd see in the north.
