I thought that using the boomerang already gains the weapons stats, hence "boomerang ability" after pressing R in upgrade/forge screen and having different stats than melee ability??

It's risky sometimes because you can't cancel the running animation cool down once you start going, but I think that's the same for all adept weapons.

uhh, ok, I'll explain it in kindergarden steps: when you go to forge palico weapon, you see the screen with the weapons you can forge, F bone wedge is very first one. Right beneath its name, is "Balanced". Beneath sharpness, is "Melee Ability". When you press "R", it switches to "boomerang ability".

I'm asking what's the difference between those two? Some weapons had higher "boomerang" STATS despite being "balanced", compared to a "boomerang type", which had a lower boomerang stat page.
