So this happened to my tire today...

so this happened to my tire today. figure since the other tires are starting to get low tread ill go ahead and order some new ones then brake stand the old ones to death. i dont want to spend a lot on expensive performance summer tires though, since theyre gonna get boy raced and worn out super quick.
has anyone tried or have nankang or winrun or other cheap ass chink tires? i live in alaska so unless it ships amazon prime or otherwise has free shipping its not worth ordering (a set of 4 from tirerack would have cost over $250 shipping) and local shops are of course overpriced as fuck.

inside view

I wouldn't bother with Chinese tires.

Don't be such a cheap ass and buy some decent all-seasons

but why when theyre gonna get burned up anyway

Federal and Sumitomo are halfway decent for being cheap as shit.

Those were ran flat mah man.

Tire guy here. Ask away.

this
when i had low profiles i accidentally ran one after some douchebag fucked up my valve, making the tire deflate, or something. stupid rubber valve failed.

looked exactly like that, except it wasn't big chunks but a fuckload of black powder.

:(

OP get some Kumho's

they're cheap but not total garbage like nankang/ling ling's or whatever

I'm running 265/35Z/R18 --- 93w M+S

whats the w measurement in tires? hardness?

should i be worried if the other side says 97W and not 93w?
Both wheels are in the back. car is RWD.

What does your door card placard specify? Those are speed ratings

yeah i literally just swapped on my summer set today and ran to the store and i walk out and find them flat as fuck, went to nearby jiffy lube and they pulled the tire off confirming they were fucked (that hole is on the rear sidewall btw)

>why should you eat food when you're just gonna die anyways

but while shitty mcdonalds and tacobell will keep you just as alive as a real restaurant for less money

They are aftermarket wheels and tires, in 18"
stock is 17, 225/45R17 91

91...?
Former tire bro here. W is a higher speed rating than V

93/97= load rating per tire (1433/1609 lbs each respectively)
w= max speed rating (168+ mph)
m+s= mud and snow approved

def speed ratings.
Really no biggy unless you're exceeding the ratings of both.

225/45/17s? What kind of driving do you do? What vehicle?

Doesn't say any letters.

225/45/ R 17 91 Q,T.H M+S it says

Its my daily, a z3

to expand on that
265 = width of the tire in mm
35 = aspect ratio (sidewall height) as a % of tire width (35% of 265 is 92.75)
z = capable of 149+ mph
r = radial (vs bias ply)
18 = intended wheel size

>Air pressure in Bar

Come the fuck on BMW. As if people don't have a hard enough time with the difference between PSI and KpA.

I see "V" on the left side of that placard yo.
As far as mixing different rated tires go, you're limited to the lowest one on your vehicle. It's more important to have matching tread on the drove axle anyhow
