Can you define a chunk of background decoration (I want to use large texture instead of assembling it from 8-pixel blocks) not as a background item (you can't place anything over that), but as a genuine background that you can actually place stuff upon?

Yeah it was lagging pretty badly earlier for me, so I gave up for a bit. They'll probably fix the servers in a few months.

I'm guessing it's caused by the game not knowing which respawn animation to call when you die. Try pointing it at one of the default animations and see if that isn't the cause,

That's why I have a bed for my ship's pet in the "resting area" of my train. With enough upgrades, the command chair is too far ahead, so it never actually goes near it. It gets close to SAIL, and down to where I keep the crew bunks and kitchen, then hops back to its bed and rests there. When I redesign the layout of my ship, I'll probably do the same thing with the pet's bed.

I hate it, because it's inconvenient a ton of times. I may not mind if they had unique dialogue for when they're following you, but they don't, they just give you the tag-along or staying behind dialogue.
