91-93 devilles are good cars, don't sell that shit
Sebastian Murphy
Sounds like she was attempting to low ball you by suggesting the price was too high and not what she wanted. And all she was going on was that its a 23yo shitbox in her head.

>OBO >give BO >no response
at least fucking say no. i wouldn't mind paying more.
Oliver Williams
>buying first car >go to look at 1999 Volvo sedan >arrive at his house at the decided time >he's not home, only his brother who doesn't know where he is >wait 20 minutes until he finaly shows >he hadn't even smogged it (in CA cars must be smogged to complete the transaction of title and shit) >"hey I gotta leave, so let me know if you're interested" >next day he texts if I'm still interested, tell him no
Fucking spic arrives late and leaves early while trying to seel his own fucking car. Ended up buying something in way better condition from a way better dude.

>Give BO >Inb4 BO is half the asking price
I never reply to lowballers. They usually are just praying that they'll get the deal of a lifetime, or they have no clue how haggling works. But they always have plenty of time to argue why the car isn't worth anywhere close the asking price and a sob story to back up why you should cut them a impossibly good deal.

this is how you never sell anything. you wait for someone to literally accept the same offer they'd get from a dealership where they'd at least have a warranty.
Benjamin Adams
No, thats how you avoid people who will only waste your time. Pic related is what you get when you have some patience and dont panic when the first offer threatens to walk. Full asking price (see: reasonable/credible price) is what i got, pic related. Car was for sale for only 3 weeks before I got it sold via craigslist. It helps a lot if you understand what the car is worth to other people in general, not just the first people making offers who in all likelyhood dont know what the car is really worth. I wouldnt have paid as much for what it sold for, but the guy who bought it didnt mind. Value is relative but its not hard to figure out what other people will pay for something.

Pretty sure no one here mentioned contract law m8.
Caleb Lee
There's a lot of gray area between written agreement and no contract. If a dealer told me that they had a car I wanted, they would hold it, and I had to travel 5 hours to see this car, and they sold it before I got there, they would be liable for the costs of my trip there if I chose to sue them in small claims. They were essentially making an offer of this vehicle, and I was accepting the offer by changing a behavior (driving to them, which I wouldn't have done had they not made the promise of the car). The last part is what you'd have to prove, but if you could, at least in my state, the dealer would be liable. >cannot into contract law
