WILL HONDA EVER RECOVER??

WILL HONDA EVER RECOVER??

roadandtrack.com/new-cars/future-cars/news/a29056/front-wheel-dive-nurburgring-record-gti-clubsport-s/

>Move over, Honda Civic Type R. Your 7:50 run around the Nürburging Nordschleife earned you the front-wheel-drive record around that track, but now Volkswagen's gone out and beat you by 1.4 seconds. VW announced today that its new 310-horsepower GTI Clubsport S ran a 7:49.21 around the 'ring, beating Honda's record.

>only 400 made
>none in the US
Nobody fucking cares.

>The Volkswagen overheated and blew a head gasket threw a rod and made a lightweight block window shortly after its record lap, experts remarked.

>never gonna buy it
>never gonna drive it
>never gonna care

>not knowing how overbuilt VW drivetrains are

>not knowing how unreliable VWs are

>changing the subject when you're wrong

I think the current MK7 caught some flak because the current engine uses an iron block instead of aluminum like everyone else in the world

The point was that VWs are unreliable shit.

>Honey, come here, the FWD autists are arguing again

Cept the Honda will last well over 300,000 miles with minimal work

tsk tsk tsk

>a single drag run with a highly modified VW means all VWs are magically reliable now

Also would be overpriced if it was in the US

Yes it does.

>fwd
Who caressss

because its fast and it handles

anyways how is it now you got your day license?

VOLKSWAGEN BTFO!!!!!

VWs nickle and dime you instead, leave the block ventilating to the current kings: Subaru and GM.

>burgerkingring laptimes

literally who cares

are these cars even fun to drive on the street anymore

>are these cars even fun to drive on the street anymore
GTIs have never been not fun.

all this obsession with low burgerking laptimes just means that the cars feel like boring shit at low speeds on the street and you have to do at least 100+ mph to enjoy them

fuck new cars

Is the Viper still faster? That's all that matters.

It depends on whose doing the shooping.

>GTR has 100% more Hp
>GTR doesn't beat VW by 100%

NISSAN BTFO

Remember, your time is short. When this is released, it's all over.

>nurburging

>Just over a second over a 470 second lap

Wow it's fucking nothing. A stiff tailwind/headwind down Dottinger-Hohe would probably produce the same, if not larger difference in lap time.

Hey man, It's cool. As long as America reigns supreme, I'm cool with it even if it isn't Dodge.

Not to mentions, it's still trash compared to rwd time

>implying the type R is in the US

It's not far off.

>timing chain issues
>turbo problems
>fuel pump failures

Welkswagen so reliable x^D

that's a AWD-System from an Audi RSQ3, the Engine has a diesel block and has nothing in common with the stock engine

Wow it's literally nothing

BLOWN THE FUCK OUT

HONTARDS ON SUICIDE WATRCH

And it will cost about as much as a V8 Camaro.

They really aren't. I've been a VW mechanic for the better part of ten years. They are very dependent on their scheduled maintenance, they can't be forgot about like other brands. If everything is kept up with, they are incredibly reliable.

Then maybe the Honda test team should have waited for a tailwind.

If the time is faster, the time is faster. This is the basis of motorsports and competition since the dawn of time.

hot """""""""""hatchback""""""""""""

0 (zero) back seats

Wait, did they solder the hatch, like on the General Lee? No?

> IT'S A HATCHBACK.

RIP civic

it was fun shitposting about you

HONDA ON SUICIDE WATCH

>fwd """"""""""performance"""""""""" cars

they're bringing back the s2000. so maybe?

even faster than the more powerful awd golf r (8:14)

Inb4 Honda release a Mugen version that beats the VW and Veeky Forums gets a few threads of "Will Volkswagen ever recover???"

>Mugen Civic is stripped completely bare
>Has slicks
>Has formula 1 engine in it
>Costs $500,000
>Driven by Ayrton Senna's ghost
.
.
.
>Beats the VW by 0.2 seconds
>Still slower than two American lard tubs with truck motors

>>none in the US
>Nobody fucking cares.

You are right, nobody has ever cared about the US.

>>Still slower than two American lard tubs with truck motors

Both of which are still slower than a production car driven to the track from the UK factory to prove to the nation of the obese that it's a fully legal road car.
