Random observation; Great Master is one of the few classes that has special animations (crit and finisher) for both Lances and Naginatas, like Spear Masters and the Nobles.

Weird IS would put that much effort into a class only one character promotes into, and even then, Azama, if used at all, is usually reclassed. And the only other guys who can reclass are Izana and Yukimura, probably the least used characters in the game.

Kind of a shame, Great Master's a really cool class from an aesthetic perspective.

Basaras also have special animations for Lances and Naginatas, in fact, I'm pretty sure they share a lot of animations with Great Masters. Male Basaras at least, since female Basaras would share animations with female Spear Masters.

You might be right about sharing animations; someone should make a compilation of all this stuff, including the Luna animations, which are also differentiated. IS did a real nice job with animations; I think they're the best in the series, just by the amount of variety.

I think it's mainly Swords/Katanas and Lances/Naginatas that get different animations in general since I've yet to see this with the other weapon types.

Did you know about Swordmasters? Certain Katanas turn into two Katanas for the character to dual wield. It looks mostly the same for the guys aside from the second Katana, but for the girls, they get a unique victory animation. I know for the guys at least (since I've seen Ryoma do it enough times) when the guys Crit with a Katana they do the kick and swing, but with a Sword, I think they do a little spin and jump just like a Hero. I may be wrong on one or two of these things but I know for a fact girls have a unique victory animation with dual wielding Katanas, so check that out.

Yeah, Swordmasters actually dual-wielding is amazing. Male Swordmasters actually do get a unique victory animation, but it isn't as cool as the girls reversing the swords behind their back.

Have you seen Corrin's animation for Luna/Lethality? Its a drill attack! Its silly as fuck, but its awesome IS bothered to make a special animation for it. I know Axe users do a tackle for Luna, but I haven't seen every classes animation for the proc.

Dual wielding male Swordmasters have a very similar victory animation as the regular one, although I looked a bit closer and they'd actually cross their arms and close their eyes in pride. Which is pretty cool. I think the female dual wielding was just more apparent since you see them cross their swords behind their back. With only one Katana they pretty much do the same as the guys, though the guys stand in a more direct way and the girls stand in, well, a more girly way.

Is it only for those two proc skills in particular? Or does Corrin have like, multiple attack animations for all kinds of attacks (so regular attacks, Crits, then Procs, then Dragon Fang, then Crit Dragon Fang or something?) Regardless, I have seen that animation and it's also pretty nice. Also makes sense that they'd give the protagonist some more unique animations like that. What's also interesting is that it is the basis for Corrin's dash attack in Smash.

I believe Corrin's regular attacks stay the same and the crits and finishers change. Dragon Fang and crit Dragon Fang are always the same.

Actually, I just remembered the second attack of Aether should be the same animation as Luna and Lethality. I believe the rest are normal attacks. Sol for sure, and I'm pretty sure Rend Heaven and Ignis are too. Astra's just five normal attacks strung together.

Kind of unfortunate honestly; I'd like to be able to see those attacks without having to put on a specific skill.

Not sure about this, but I think other classes' Luna animations can be done normally; I seem to recall having a Basara do the same strikethrough animation as a normal attack. I might be remembering wrongly, and I have no idea what the conditions for it would be.

He may be one of the strongest units in the Daein Army but that doesn't mean much when you have Jill rightfully competing for that spot and that you have to go through the slog of the chapters he's available in just to bring him to the end. Meanwhile Mia's around for much longer and has a better chance of becoming a Trueblade for Part 4.

Isn't there enough room for both Jill and Zihark? There aren't that many Dawn Brigadiers really worth investing in.

Endgame matters. Mia requires less attention out of all the swordmastes and she available more often. I honestly always bring both Mia and Zihark since you get 2 S rank swords to hand out and Zihark got natural adept skill.
