Mommy Rosaria!

Kicked out for gank squad enabling.

DLC info when?

Can we all agree that Crown of the Ivory Kang is the absolute best DLC of the entire Soulsborne series?

Debating another go at DaS2. Unsure what class to roll with.

>doing co-op playthrough with friend
>cathedral of the deep, him as host
>invaded by red#1
>assisted by blue
>invaded by red#2
>blue runs off
>friend and I kill red#2
>blue dies off somewhere
>eventually see red#1 right before the boss fog
>has mimic head on but isn't taking damage from it
>suspect cheater, run into bossfight without fighting him
>boss instantly dies 2 seconds after we enter
I mean, it's a piss-easy bossfight anyway and he got the doll from the fight, but why do this?

>why are there so many people with 1 or more phantoms to help them?
Because the system only throws you at people who play with phantoms.

>A much more concerning question: Why ARE there people who like to o the dirty work?
Cooping bosses gives you souls. More importantly it's fun, and tard wrangling the host is added challenge.

DS3 doesn't have ascetics and has a shit NG+, so it's better to keep cooping areas and bosses while also dumpstering invaders.

>coop run WITH way of blue

Hexes are a waste of souls, though.

Yeah, we use it early game to deal with the invaders who have 7 +10 flasks.

Awful as they increase soul memory with all actually fun hexes.

unless you care for pvp, knight is the best class imo, cleric if you want extra heals but less starting weapon option (due to lack of dex)

Why does that matter if he wants to make a new run? Just use Affinity, Dark Orb and Scraps of Life desu

r8

No.

>short
>only a few new enemies, others are just recolors of enemies from the main game or the previous two dlcs
>have to grind souls with low drop rates for the Loyce Knight pieces and slog through the worst area and boss in Soulsborne for the greatsword

It has great presentation and the Ivory King is a very cool fight, but the DLC not nearly as impressive as AotA or ToH.

Let's talk level design, /dsg/.
What's your favorite type of level?
What kind of levels you'd like to see in the DLC?
What kind of gimmicks would you like to see levels use?
What kind of gimmicks you'd like to see less?
What the level design in Soulsborne games does right / wrong in your opinion?

warning.
dude called Arash at Nameless King is a hacker.
hope i don't get banned cause i summoned him...

Nvm then, continue your work

So of course I just died to the Dancer as soon as I got there, how do I get back?

If you're not parrying, what's the next best way to deal with people spamming Gotthard roll pokes?

Explorer or Deprived.
Starting out with gear that carries you through the whole game is lame. Loot that shit.

Any /dsg/ player is going to engage in scott's ultimate metafaggotry tourney?

>decide to try out pontiff's again and see if anything's changed
>7/10 of the people i face are passive-reactive shitters, with one of them being a washing pole running r1 spammer
>add him and politely ask him to refrain from playing like that because it makes for a very unenjoyable fight
>he replies with pic related
the inner workings of a metashitter

holy fuck i'm not coming back here again, fuck this place and all of the people trying to turn it into some prolonged chess match esport bullshit

Anything vertical is a plus.
Dark souls had great level design for the most part, BB a close second, and the rest is just garbage, even DeS.

Go full STR and power-stance Orma and Reeve shields.

Put up a shield.

>Have to run through the same area with the same enemy placement twice
>Nothing good other than a lightning spell and the curved nil
Nah m8 Brume tower is better

That being said I spent fucking weeks making a 1mil curved nil build on ng10 just so I could fuck people up with that extra 100 damage and the sick spin attack

>add him and politely ask him to refrain from playing like that because it makes for a very unenjoyable fight

Probably 2h shield bashing.

Hey, /dsg/

Does Dexterity affect pyromancy casting speed? I want to move a few excess points in dex around a bit?

DaS3 of course.

What the fuck is wrong with Watcher's Greatsword infusions?

how do you find guys you fought on steam again?

It does, but sage ring does the same thing so you don't have to waste points into dex

But anons, no one uses a shield in ds3.

>get hit by nothing for 10s of seconds
>activate perseverance
>2kat weapon art instantly breaks my guard less than half a second in
>eat over 1000 damage

yay

view recent players

In 3 Dex does effect it, which is dumb since Attunement should. Though you'll be able to reach the casting speed softcap with no Dex and Sage's Ring +2 iirc.

It's fucked up especially the lack of better Magic scaling from Magic infusion. Watcher's GS is best Raw infused with the buff active since that gives the most AR for the relatively little investment.

Sage ring adds 30 "casting dex" for +0, 35 for +1, 40 +2.

So either get to ng3 and have 10 dex, ng2 with 15 or regular ng with 20

>shift+tab
>view players
>recent games

If you want to add someone that you found in a FC or something you're gonna have a bad time finding the right profile tho

Explorer is a fine choice, but Deprived tires me. Getting good shit quick isn't difficult in DaS2. The only thing starting as Deprived does is increase the chance of a needless early death against bitch enemies.

Recent players or CE

*unless they're good

That re-done Heide's Tower looks sweet. Are there any more pics like that?

>tfw want to make strengthpyro but only small handful of viable weapons and very few levels to invest stats in, even at 120

is it unreasonable to ask people to tone down the cancer
if i'm getting this buttblasted at dying to shit like that, what about the people that'll suffer his bullshit later on

>Be Ps4
>finish fighting guy, want to talk to him
>Go to players met immediately after fight ends
>Last met: Fagface, 30 minutes ago

>tfw last ring i need to 100% the game
soon bros, soon i will be free. (till DLC).
i just have to grind 16 more swordgrass...

>Favourite type
It would be nice, forested outdoor areas but I don't feel like either DaS1 or DaS3 did them very well (never really got into DaS2 so I can't speak for the areas in that). Both Darkroot and Road of Sacrifices are just kind of big, flat, empty areas with a few items scattered around, some enemies and some stuff in little hidden corners. The first half of the Road of Sacrifices (with all the Corvians) was really good, so I think an entire area like that would be lovely. From what I've seen of it (mustard so I sadly haven't played), the forest areas in Bloodborne (Hemwick Lane and the one with all the snakes) looked really good.

Because forested areas haven't been 10/10 for me, it's got to be the fucking huge, architecturally awing castles. I fucking love stuff like Lothric Castle, Anor Londo and Cathedral of the Deep because they're insanely huge. A castle in high fantasy doesn't have to be flying or be covered in magic runes or have crystal spires or anything - if it's just stupidly fucking big that really makes the impression that the people who built and lived in this castle were serious business. High Wall/Lothric Castle/Grand Archives are especially good for this.

>DLC wishes
If we get a Deep DLC I'd like to see some more of the Cathedral of the Deep - its lowest depths or something. Gloomy, twisted, underground levels with big pits, like Tower of Latria or Irithyll Dungeon on steroids. Below that, maybe some really spooky water levels.

If we get an Angels or Londor DLC, more BIG architecture.

>Good gimmicks/things Soulsborne does right
Looping back on themselves, lots of shortcuts. Cathedral of the Deep and Grand Archives were great in this regard.

I like how Soulsborne games can create a world that feels pretty vast and open, but the focus on closed areas prevents shitty empty 'sandbox' worlds.

>Bad gimmicks
I didn't like how DaS3 had lots of bonfires very close to each other.
Straight line levels are never good.

Brume Tower and Shulva are godly though

I have 53 INT and base STR/DEX requirements, you think I should go Raw?

Damage calculators are your friend

>not just using SAC

Senpai, AR is a terrible way to determine a weapon's strenght

>SAC
wat

DLC level designs have consistently been amazing, Old hunters had one of the greatest locations I've seen in a souls game(The rotating stairs), all the DS2 DLC are great in terms of level design.

Oolacile was fine, nothing spectacular, but not Lost Izalith tiers of shit either.

Anyone? No idea where that place even was or how to get back there.

i think he meant SAM (Steam Achievement Manager)

why does hawkwood care about dragons all of a sudden? was this foreshadowed or suggested at all?

I'd say AotA had the worst levels of any DLC in the series. Like, they're not outright bad, but really they're just 'okay' or 'good' at best compared to every other DLC's 'excellent' tier stuff.

Royal woods is just daylight Darkroot with some changes, and From doesn't really excel at open areas. Township had some nice shortcuts and little side passages but ultimately it didn't really feel *better* than an area like Burg, just bigger. Abyss was pretty eh.

>What's your favorite type of level?
Vertical. I think that Catacombs/Sen's from DS1 and Research Hall are the best designed locations in series as vertical structure gives a lot of freedom for creative shortcuts, traps and other things.
>What kind of levels you'd like to see in the DLC?
-a DS3 version of chalice dungeons with better variety of elements used in generation and unique covenant built around invading, gravelording and cooping in it
-some sort of a spooky mansion like Aldia's Keep could've been, with fake walls, labyrinths, weird rooms and extremely creepy enemies
-angel-themed grand cathedral in form of a giant tower you need to ascend
>What kind of gimmicks would you like to see levels use?
A lot of traps invaders can activate, more unique online-related functions in general like bosses being able to summon players, gravelording and other shit
>What kind of gimmicks you'd like to see less?
Fire the motherfucker from a DS2 team who did the dog alley in Irithyll and never let him design anything again.
>What the level design in Soulsborne games does right / wrong in your opinion?
The absolute worst shit that ever came from souls games is Memories in DS2. Dogshit awful and not suited for the series in the slightest. Best? Complex levels with lots of secrets and shortcuts, probably with some sort of stage hazards forcing you to approach them creatively.

the dancer boss fight takes place in the church where you got the banner that you needed to hold up after vortd

I honestly think Oolacile was the worst DLC of all the souls games. If it wasn't for the bosses it would an arena leading to some big open woods that loop in a circle, and then a long thin hallway with some side rooms before another big open area but this time its dark

my autism wouldn't let me, i am hellbent on 100%'ing this game legit.
And i am doing it right now cause who know is they don't add any bullshit DLC achis

It's the same room as the one where that lady gives you a banner at the start of the game.

warp to the place you fought vordt the frost man and run to the other end of the courtyard, in the opposite direction to where you raised the banner
the undead burg is one of my favourite levels funnily enough. aota has great boss fights but fairly lacklustre levels as you say.

If you're playing just to have fun, I guess. Shields are very good, they have no startup whatsoever in their stance and can reduce tons of incoming damage, I see no reason not to use one if you're playing to win, unless you're dealing with an hyperaggressive retard that rolls into you.

Ugly 3/10

>those dash forward animations
ayy

skelly covenant in dlc would be nice

Nope. Hawkwoods just a kiss ass little bitch that got kicked out of his fan club and went to go join another

...

Thanks guys.

I like the Farron Keep poison shithole and remember having a really good time with it on my first character. I put out 2 of the 3 flames and was looking for the third, stumbled onto the ladder and used the top of the flaming tower for navigation.

Why is the reach on straight swords so broken

Anyone on PC got a symbol of avarice to spare? I killed all the mimics but didn't get mine.

It's such a shame that the High-wall of Lothric couldn't capture what made Undead Burg so awesome, it's kind of like they tried but failed.
I think that Undead burg and the firelink shrine might be my favorite levels in any game, the interconnectability, shortcuts, scenery and nostalgia about that place is amazing, I will never forget my first time finding all the shortcuts, especially the one from the Bell-chuch to Firelink shrine.

I like this area as well.

Transformation and attacks looks cool but how am i supposed to take that dash seriously ?

Bloodborne DLC says hi.

No, but Patches is our guy

Anyone feel like doing a co-op run?

Reload and go to where the last mimic is near Dragonslayer Armour. If the SoA isn't there, you haven't killed all mimics.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD bring back the chaos covenant egg head

Which game? Do you mind EXTREMELY cringeworthy names?

What's your favorite type of level?
levels with sprawling architecture that you can actually get lost in, vertically or horizontally. I personally love Hindu/Khmer temple designs so izalith constantly being a rushed PoS is really disappointing.

What kind of levels you'd like to see in the DLC?
Fun areas to explore with coop, but still possible solo. I.E a giant labyrinth or giant tower full of traps.

What kind of gimmicks would you like to see levels use?
Areas with pressure plates scattered throughout the floor that make spikes rise up, pitfalls that just send you back to the start of the area or minorly inconvenience you, levers that activate something but close something else.

What kind of gimmicks you'd like to see less?
throw 10 enemies with spears/bows/magic with massive aggro range in narrow corridor

What the level design in Soulsborne games does right / wrong in your opinion? see above

alva, vendrick and aldia=cucks

havel, nameless king and raime=chads

This form is a nod toward an old japanese trash horror movie, of course not.

>nameless king
>chad

xD guys im le son uf the gwyn who deaded all te dragons but now i use dem as friends xDDD

youtube.com/watch?v=WScMl8AIbOk

reminder shit souls 3 is a joke of game

what is Charlie Sheen holding?

But the biggest holy shit shortcut is havel's tower

I killed all of them and the symbol isn't there. According to the comments on the wiki I'm not the only one that happened to.

I want to start a starting equip only run on DS3
Which class should I choose? (Pls no Knight/Warrior)

happened to me too, nobody believed me a few days ago and just kept saying 'hurdur reload'

Pyro.

pitiful deserter

Any user for PS4 fight club?

Sure, I can drop you one.
