>tfw someone says they loved your game for the first time

You are the hero of Nihongo High, user.

Anything with delicious brown tomboys with big tits? Short hair? Gloryholes?

That currently has a release?
Nah

Future release?

So let's say I want to include quotes from books, pop culture, film or whatever. My first impulse is to reference the author, because it would be intellectually dishonest not to do so. Although it's standard procedure for anyone slightly educaded, steam plebs tend to interpret this as presumptuousness. So what do?
Do I keep my mouth shut about the origin of the saying, or do I include some reference? The context of my VN allows both options, so I'm fine with either one.

So is Just Deserts getting a H patch soon or what

I've got brown, tomboy, big tits and short hair down.

>thread about to die again

Why

This thread only lives when anons battle to the death.

who did ebi-hime pick as an artist for her ero game?

Ebi-hime made an ero game? When?

Mortal Kombat VN when?

Why is /evn/ intertwined with /u/ but rarely with /y/?

I'd date Johnny Cage.

Because /y/ is not a discussion board and /blog/ is right here.

Because there are a couple really loud yuri fans.

Most of the posters are girls and half of them are lesbians.

/y/ seems to have actual standards

i say this as a yuri fan

Because Raithfyre viral markets both boards.

this
being the huge faggot he is, is always claiming to just be 'one of the devs' and not himself

Is yuri monstergirls too niche? Would it be better to have a male protagonist or is cute lesbian lamia cuddling something worth carrying out?

Alienworks dev here. I think you're talking about me? I'm not Raith.

Yuri is always too niche.

That is sad.

>Is yuri monstergirls too niche?
who gives a fuck just do what you want
its what I'm doing and it seems to be working out well for me so far

This. Make whatever you want. You can do your best to make some cookie cutter VN that will appeal to the masses, but if your heart isn't in it it will never make you happy. If you don't make the games you want to make no one else will.

>tfw you want to make something everyone will get mad about

The people who will get mad about your game aren't your intended audience anyway, fuck them. The people only people who matter are the people who will enjoy the subject matter of the game, and they won't be people who would get scared away by someone complaining that your subject matter is bad. In fact they will probably be grateful someone is catering to their interests.

>people possibly won't like my project wah
>waaah

so tired of seeing devs narcissistic persecution complex. everything you do is not going to get a reaction from people. no one cares about what you do or how you do it.

Sounds cute. There's never enough yuri.

I guess this is true in that if you want to churn out lots of similar works for money, there are far better mediums for that than VNs.

I currently have 10+ girls in my cast without a yuri route in sight, am I welcomed here?

Sounds pretty normal for a BxG.

Sometimes we want to understand fan mindset even if in the end we disregard it and do what we want.

It's an otome game.

>game meant for dating boys
>10 female characters
>you don't date them
Sounds bloated then.

Why does there seem to be so few people making BxG EVNs?

because most vns are BxG so there's little motivation for people to make their own.

Severe lack of gloryholes

because you've apparently never checked lemma.

There used to be a lot of BxG projects before 2012, but then most of them died.

>never
*only

Thanks guys. The content will not change regardless of the protags gender. I don't really care about appealing to the masses, but I'd still like a decent audience. Yuri fans tend to be way more sensitive to, uh, guro....

> insect girl

cute!

I can't wait to make my butterfly girl VN.

But yuri and guro is the best combination.

Is anyone even making one in /evn/? All I hear about is yuri, and to a lesser extent, yaoi and otome.

One of my future VNs will be BxG.

> insect girl
Hngg! I would play even if I'm not into yuri.

lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=35846

Not really my project but I help in coding because dunno, I wanted to try collaborating to people to understand why a lot of collaborators fucking flake. But of course, I don't have crippling depression, gender issues, body dysmorphia, bad parents to deal with compared to my first-world counterparts.

I'm doing one too.
Keep tuned. Coming any decade now.

God, reading the replies in that thread make me never want to post my project on LSF.

*collaborating with people

Jesus Christ, I'm getting worse.

If a random person really liked my short, free, pretty much unknown game and wants to translate it into their language, should I let them?

What a coincidence, me too! Fancy a simultaneous release?

>The game contains 43,778 dialogue blocks, containing 1,053,392 words and
6,591,571 characters, for an average of 24.1 words and 151 characters per
block.
Fuck, that is a lot of text.

Sure, I'd love to.

As long as you are sure they are not trying to pull any intellectual property scam on you, yeah why not.

We're looking for a Russian-English translator for that, apparently he got one for the promo vid but I don't know about the whole script.

Mfw still haven't finished the screens hahaha.

You're joking right? They have no intention of adding porn to that vn.

They seem pretty earnest, but how do I know for sure?

Because AJ Tilly, Winged Cloud, and Love in Space have that market cornered.

Onegaishimasu

> eroge featuring underage characters
> 12 year old

to each their own, but this is the kind of stuff that should be in big red letters.

Dunno how this creative commons licenses and stuff works (where I live you simply go so some gov. office and register it to guarantee all your bases are covered). Some other user here might be of more help in that regard.

In any case, look it up how it works and and do what you can on your end. Aside for that, as long as you don't sign any weird stuff you shouldn't have any problem... I think. Maybe host the patch in your own site, or make him an official colaborator and release a bilingual version.

>Sorry, but that's MINE story, so it's about a boy who searching love interest among girls, the boy (main character) is 15yo and girls are 12-17 different ages. And we not interested in "otome" and else, we are making an EROGE BxG game as said in main post. Male character and 7 possible main heroines. And the eroge games I've played include lolicon H-art and etc) Although there will be only 15% of adult content inside whole story, about 2 scenes in each personal girl's route and only in "Lovers" ending, not in "Friend", not in "Bad/Neutral" endings.

He's brave, if not crazy for posting such a thing on lemma.

I have no problem with the ages of the love interests, but I know that in a lot of Western countries you can get in legal trouble for what he's doing. I think he's Russian though. Is Russia okay with lolis?

He's Russian, I'd say most likely both.

Creative Commons confuses the fuck out of me. All I could find was what each license was, and everything seemed to imply "If you say your game is covered by X license then it is. Can anyone explain it to me?

Leave aside doing it, a lot of countries will punish you for so much as owning it. It's the kind of content you NEED to warn people of.

>Is Russia okay with lolis?
Maybe, but seems risky anyways. Even in Japan you need to do the "even if they look like prepubescent kids, everyone is 18 I swear, *wink*, *wink*" trick, or fear retaliation.

>Even in Japan you need to do the "even if they look like prepubescent kids, everyone is 18 I swear, *wink*, *wink*"
Really? There are tons of VNs with blatantly under 18 characters (from late teens to actual lolis) with ero scenes. Japan is fairly lax with lolicon manga, not sure why VNs would be any different.

I'll also point out that steam allows nekopara even though the VN directly states that they're like the cat equivalent of 15, and even though the sex scenes don't come with the steam version the patch is officially supported and even in Western countries I don't think anyone has gotten in trouble (could be wrong).

Even in those, ages are not explicitly stated, are censored (like: "she is @3 year old" or "she is a @ schooler"), or you get an announcement at the beguining of the game saying that everyone is 18 and, even they are only fictional characters, they give consent to waterver happens to them in the game. Maybe it is not strictly forbidden, but laws can change at any moment and it's usually safer do this stuff.

Dunno about the nekopara thing. Might be one of those "but they are not human" loopholes.

Since when? I'm 99% sure there are JVNs which specifically state that X girl is 16 and you still get to fuck her, as well as younger ages.

Rate my cast?

How can we do that if we don't know your cast?

Please help.

japan has loli sections at almost every doujin con throughout the year with public banners of animated toddlers exposing their assholes

they don't censor shit

8/10, as non existent as your game.

Well, pic related it's an example that those exist, but I've been checking some installed VNs and it turns out it's not as prevalent as I remember. I swear I have seen them too in some strictly japanese releases, not only translated stuff, but looks like I don't currently have anything that depraved installed.

If you use a CC-BY-NC-SA licensed thing, it means your game should be CC-BY-NC-SA as well, since SA means Share-Alike, meaning that your product, a derivative of that something, should have a license the same as that something.

Holy shit I don't know if that helped. I'm just another third-worlder ESL dude.

But my game isn't derivative of anything.

>cute monster girls
>guro
PREORDERED

>build upon the material
>material being cc-by-nc-sa licensed assets
>build upon free assets?

>implying I used assets made by anyone other than myself

Maybe this?
www.copyright.gov/fls/sl35.pdf

Seems like a pain to read, but such is our fate as devs.

Look if it's built upon original assets and shit, use the CC-BY-NC-ND license, a.k.a the strictest there is.

Drop the NC part if you gonna sell it though.

I think the fact that copyright shit is a pain is why most devs use creative commons.

How2copyrightforEVN?

You don't. Ideas should be free.

So for using assets: you can put assets with CC licenses in games with stricter CC licenses than the original, but you can't put them in games with more loose CC licenses? Or the other way around?

meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Open_Content_-_A_Practical_Guide_to_Using_Creative_Commons_Licences/The_Creative_Commons_licencing_scheme

Kill me

Do you even need a CC license at all?

Which EVN started the practice of licensing in CC?

So basically, if you use premade CC assets in your game, never use a license with ND in it and you'll be fine.

Looks that way.

If you make your VN public domain will the world end?

No, but maybe this thread will.
