They pretty much randomly cycle through all players present in the zone they have seen. This can be influenced by cat food skills, taunt, hammer provoke, and the bowgun silencer. Having the enemy face you predictably can be a boon online for some weapons like hammer, CB, HH, and maybe GS if you want the headshots reliably.

I imagine a hammer user that activates provoker, gems taunt, and eats for taunt is going to have the monster glued to them as if they were playing solo.

At the end of the day most people will just end up disregarding 90% of the armor, it's a plain bad design choice when some of that armor is quite clearly designed to be purely cosmetic.

Yeah I dont play MH for the plot but at least 3 and especially 4U had one you worked up to. The Fated Four in this just feel like regular monsters who the villagers barely acknowledged as more than a nuisance like all the others. At least with Magala you followed how the infection spread and actually saw the ramifications of it taking over the environment culminating into a very good fight.

I used it while fighting Tama to do her nails for breaks (and because it takes good lightning damage in general).

I'd imagine it works for Uragaan and possibly Agnaktor too.

What weapon would be fun for someone who's bored with SA? Aerial seems too easy and adept is kinda wasted on the SA, and I can't see the joy in using striker or guild.
