I traditionally make a hunter as my first char in a new server for swift leveling and mats harvesting but I think this time, since everybody is going horde, Im going to start with a shaman...
I have never been a powerplayer and leveling always has been somewhat hard to me. What class would be you first server char?

The first character you make should be something you enjoy so you level faster, then when you hit a benchmark level (32, 43, 52) take a break and level a character that raids NEED but you absolutely hate. Then, when they hit a benchmark level, you can go back to the class you enjoy which is now loaded up on rest XP and start enjoying content again. Plus, doing everything the first time lets you learn from your mistakes to do faster leveling the second time.
Unless you're playing with friends, never go for warrior. That's it.
I'm not sure, i keep changing my mind. i like shamans the best but really don't enjoy end game healing very much. I may go orc rogue or orc hunter just for a change.
I've only really played shaman and paladin on private servers, and only shaman during retail vanilla. So I am lame.
i'd go warrior but no RL friends will play (we're all too old, plus they'd just try legion out if i mentioned WoW but would be a big hassle to get them to poopsock vanilla). if I made some in-game buddies there is a chance i'd go warrior but i doubt i have the patience once we hit ashenvale and nelf hunters and wizards are fucking my ass for free.

I remember the first warrior I made back in retail and i didnt even know how to play that class... it was like time had stopped moving... I dinged 60 eventually and was a decent tank though... actually no I was a shit tank, I blame I had no proper keybinds culture
