My rear is pretty squared off and I want to try a different tyre to what I have currently, however my front still has plenty of tread left and I'm not a fan of wasting money.
Why shouldn't I ride on mis-matched tyres until the front eventually wears down?

I have a pilot power 3 rear and a pilot power 2ct front because i couldnt get a 120/65-17 front, could only get 120/60 or 120/70

Depends how far from the caliper you attach the disc lock and how spirited your take off is. If the person had put it in the recommended position, right beside the caliper, it probably couldn't have happened regardless of take off speed. Unless they rolled a foot or two backwards before taking off.

be honest and upfront. tell them you have no fucking idea how it happened, but show/tell them.

then explain you're poor or whatever the issue is. (is that not the issue?)

then offer them to take the money of the cost of fixing that caliper from your settlement.

You might actually. They'll almost certainly find it anyway and if they think you tried to fuck with them they'll certainly try to fuck with you. If you're honest about it and apologetic they might at least be cool and work out a way for you to pay it back as you can afford it.

Just go buy a new/used caliper. Motorcycles take like 10 minutes to replace and bleed calipers. It's not a car, there's no reason you can't do it on your own.

but a hand pump for bleeding calipers. like 20 bucks on amazon. still on of the best investments i have ever made other than paying 3 bucks to fuck your mother.
