i agree her ults could be a little more impactful though, even blessed shield being useful as it is it feels like you're just slightly holding enemies back when compared to other tank ults

Her performance has been the same for months now. Literally unstoppable at lvl 20 if you position yourself correctly. Sometimes the best position is in the heart of danger.

Li Li is excellent in duo support comps, but she's an absolute garbage solo support. Which is really fucking annoying because being that she's 2k, in my silver games shes a really popular solo support choice, and the games can be disasterous. Pretty much all you have to do is go blessed shield johanna, chuck your shield at anyone when Li Li pops 10,000 cups and you stun her out of it 9 times out of 10. Then all she has are her shitty tyrande tier Q heal and her blinds, which for some reason all silver players just fucking lose their shit over.

You are right, Li Li can 100% off-tank a bit.
She lost her anti-CC build when they took away herbal cleanse but you can still take a skillshot to the face to save a teammate. At 20 you want to be right in it to get every AOE to tickle your butt and reset your skills.

Li Li is a great solo support. I would rather a second DPS or bruiser over her as a second support unless it's with like Tyrande.
Getting stunned out of cups is only a problem for bad players. If she is so badly counter picked then that is a draft issue. If you are eating every stun that is a skill issue.
You know you can use cups outside of battle, right? Try it before a fight to top of everyone, or after a fight to keep pushing.
If you are losing the fight and the enemy has been holding back on using stuns and ults JUST TO STUN YOUR CUPS, you took a bad fight and are going to lose anyway.

Playing Gul'Dan has taught me to be really fucking careful because you can't afford mistakes. Playing him should be mandatory until the game recognizes you have learnt positioning, disengaging and not overextending.

Also he shits out damage like nobody's business.

You say it like that would be a weird thing to do, when in reality any decent player is literally going to do exactly that. If you knock a solo support Li Li out of cups the teamfight is over, you won. So it isnt uncommon AT ALL for a thrall to hold on to sundering or a jo to hold on to blessed shield until she sees your dumb fucking "PLEASE STUN ME ASAP" cups ulti.

Li Li is so fucking bad as a solo support.

gul'dan's a mage so i don't see why he shouldn't be compared to heroes with the same classification as him

Here is how you play Ming. Step one. approach fight at 45 degree angle so you can hit backline/multiple things. Throw purple shit at back line, it doesn't really matter if you miss, your cool downs are low as shit. If someone attacks you, good news, they have over extended most likely because you shoot from far away. Teleport out if needed or just teleport/shield fuck there face and heal when they die.

Alternately, approach team fight in a position that is normally over extended, but be close enough to literally any piece of terrain to teleport over it.

Read the post again. I literally said the exact opposite of "high skill cap", i.e. "low skill floor". That is what I meant. Learn to play with Ming, and you're gonna be shit at every other hero because of how powerful and easy to play she is. Learn to play with Gul and you're gonna get good at every other hero (apart from meme heroes like Murky) because of how careful you have to be.

people are going to pick up on their mistakes and how to fix them
playing a hero that's brutally difficult to play properly right off the bat is not going to accelerate that process in any meaningful way

i still see jaina in my games at least; gone 30 HL games without seeing a single gul'dan
