I do both. I go for all three when I can, but I often find myself having to go bow-on because I'm an aggressive player that can't stand sitting in the back and sniping, then I find myself 5km in front of my team and that's a bad place to be. So I reverse and use the two forward turrets, it gets the job done but it's so boring.

Why bother?

T6 marks the point where the line changes from quick-reloading, medium range torps to long-reloading, long-range torps, so a change in attitude is required. It's the most torp-reliant ship in the line, so you if you're deficient at using torps (which are good) you won't really be able to prop yourself up with the guns.

T7 has guns that can be buffed into usefulness (with a marginal invisi-firing window) with AFT, but it's concealment is the worst of the line. Considering that the T8 guns are markedly superior, this is probably the one ship in the line without a compelling strength in any area.

Bait with your fighters, never attack his planes directly, split up your planes and attack in more than one place at the same time, if he's onto your strike planes, drop their loads and move in different directions. Use your carrier as a place to bait his fighters to, if you have to fight his planes do it over aa potent allies. This isn't fight in which you will win in the air, but you will deal much more ship damage, which you're supposed to do in the first place.

First, bait the fucker using ally AA, Texas will be your best pal.
Second, fucking strafe the fuck outta him.
Third, mind your planes, never send them together, make Bogue split his forces and use that window to unleash havock on the enemy.
Fourth, don't be a shitter and use your brain.
