It's a bitch to develop for due to its 3D gimmick, even if your game doesn't use it in any way, shape, or form. Nintendo's recent gimmicky shit has all been difficult to develop for if you don't work for Nintendo.

Wii and PS2 are basically the same. They only get a free pass because lack of medal system.

The PS2 and Wii weren't able to handle the full PS3/360 engine, so they outsourced Dimps (on a tight deadline and shoestring budget, as usual) to remake the levels. Mazuri (except the boss fight) and Empire City were completely scratched, the level design is worse for the aforementioned deadline/budget reasons, and there are a bunch of other changes. They honestly may as well be different games, like how Colors DS is different enough from Colors Wii.

What do you guys want added to Sonic Mania that can improve the old gameplay. I want them to make it so you can press jump anytime airborne to perform a spin attack. I don't like that when I hit a spring or run off a ramp, that I'm launched through the air vulnerable with no attack.

What if we let Shadow come to Mania, but ONLY as a way to represent the completely different abilities Sonic had in Adventure/2. Sonic gets to play like fun S3K stuff and Shadow has to play with Homing Attack and Lightspeed Dash. Everyone's happy.

I don't want to incur the wrath of a certain user, but that would be impossible, as Sonic Mania takes place way before Sonic Adventure 2, as evidenced by Classic Sonic, who is a much younger version of the current, modern Sonic.

First of all, Mario has much lighter continuity than Sonic. Secondly, it was never indicated by Mario or Yoshi that that was the first time they had met. Third, Shadow was still stuck in the capsule during the Classic games. Finally, if they met in Sonic Mania, how come Sonic and Shadow didn't recognize each other in Sonic Adventure 2?
