you need bitcoins
you can get them two ways
1: Coinbase (tedious method, long time to verify bank, etc)
go to Coinbase, setup an account, link a bank, and then buy BTC directly using USD

2: Paxful (easy method, fast, no verification)
you just trade something for BTC, like gift cards or western union
depending on what you trade, you get a good rate or a shit rate

now go to Poloniex
from there you make an account & you can trade any coin for any other coin (at the proper market rate)
by just clicking exchange, picking the coin
