The entire premise of Takumi's character is that he's an intuitive genius.

It was a Group A model or something.

I'm Second Stage the car was swapped with a Group A 4A-GE capable of revving to 11,000 RPM. Not sure of hp output but I would guess between 200-250. Now that doesn't seem like a lot but that's roughly 10/1 lb/hp, which is quick, not to mention the car could have insanely low rear end gears with that crazy high redline.

4th stage is 24 episodes iirc.
5th stage is like 12 or something and final stage is 4 or 6 episodes.
