You can't dismount from the hook without pressing space.

kill WoF by re-summoning the imp over and over on the eyes (if you just run, they will target the hungry)

kill spooders to make armor+spooder staff -> enjoy easy trip to late game

for flying bosses, make a bigass arena with placed background walls so they have something to latch onto

spooders are by far the best summon weapon through golem, then you'll want tempest/deadly sphere/xeno to beat the cultist and trigger the lunar events -> make stardust dragon staff -> win game

Game used to run silky smooth 60 fps before, but now when it dips to 40 it goes into a weird slowmo...

Tried almost anything, from retro/trippy light, multicore on/off, frameskip on/subtle/off to anything else.

Yea, compared to most of the other bosses, Plantera practically gets the biggest jump in difficulty for expert mode.

also make sure to remove the blocks underneath your spawn so you hopefully end up on the actual ground if you die

Hmm, maybe. I want to try to keep combat bonuses out of the item, but make it an attractive item for boss fights anyway. I feel that was always the item's strong suit: Fun mobility that has niche uses. Feral Claws could probably get put in though, since they're so meager compared to some others.

you should also have recipes for frostspark boots + lava waders, bundle of ballons + fart and fish balloons, and star veil + sweetheart necklace

master ninja gear isn't really that underwhelming. 10% dodge and a dash to avoid bosses with is a nice set of defensive bonuses
if you want to make it super OP make it combine with the worm scarf for "corrupted ninja gear" or something

if it had I-frames I'd give a shit. And the 10% dodge means fuck all when you're eating a hundred damage a slap and it sometimes doesn't go off for an entire fight. I'd rather end the fight faster with more damage or take less damage.
Fucking nice when it does trigger though.

The idea isn't to make it overpowered or anything though. Just give it more fun shit. Useful shit. Jumps (like the bundle you mentioned, which is built in already. Horseshoe too.) Starveil and Sweetheart are a bit too much if you ask me, though. The Cross Necklace combined with the dodge already gives it everything it needs on the evasive front if you ask me.
Plus, it's not meant to bundle EVERYTHING together. I'm trying to make it into a mash-up of weaker versions of numerous other items to say "Here's a bunch of nice shit that you want, but can't normally fit, all condensed in one slot. just worse versions of them"

i guess those combinations were kind of overpowered

but it seems dumb that there are two different sets of boots or two completely separate non-combineable items that do shit when you get hit

I think it's an even helping of oversight and a mind for balance. Stuff in this game has been added in large chunks for ages and new mechanics get added in much the same way.
However, I'll add that those combinations on their own seem just fine to me. Put inside the Master Ninja Gear, not so much. That's why I was panning them. A Star Veil combined with the Sweetheart on its own would be totally fine.
