If this is your first year driving then I can say from experience that it will be cheaper to go with non black box insurance come renewal.

We did not go full hektik on black mountain pass since it literally looks like something out of initial d with cliff faces and long drops included. I messed up my braking on the hairpin since I shifted first to second didn't rev high enough to match the gear and the car arched forward while I was turning putting me into a weight transfer slide around the hairpin (road was wet and the hill was steep). I was in front of everyone when it happened and we all shat ourselves

I don't see how I'm meant to juggle the radio, the wheel, and the gearstick. Americans get away with it because they all drive automatics and only need one hand.

Maybe strap it to my wrist, or set it in my lap like I do with the satnav, but then all you'd hear would be AT THE END OF THE ROAD, TURN LEFT and so forth from Cindy.

Which is really the problem with driving a newer car. I'm still not 100% used to effective brakes, so stomping on them means everything goes whoosh off the passenger seat.

I picked up 2 for my e39 on Tuesday because my rears were slick bald from skidz. Now I have 2 different sets of wheels :^)

I just got some dirty ass wolfrace 17 inch fuckers for the Micra. I don't even think they'll fit, arch clearance is alright but they're probably twice as wide as stock width.

I'll post pics when I get around to actually giving them a shot, its hilariously stupid looking.

I think 14 stock, at least that's what my steels are. I bought a set of nice looking (as in not chavy) 14 alloys for IR but the centre bore hole is too bloody small. I was going to grind them out to fit but I thought fuck it, I'll just sell them

Just take them to the local machine shop and sling them 20, they do that shit all the time.

If I'm not cruising along comfortably above 50, then I tend to leave it there. I do not have a lot of power in 5th below 50MPH, so if someone dumps me out the power band I need to fuck about with gears to deal with it.

I think I will in the long run, they're nice wheels and because they're still 14 inch I won't have to worry about the speedo over reading any.

That depends on tyre as well. If the wheels are wider than stock and you need a different tyre there may be a little difference in overall diameter.

Put wheel + tyre specs into that it will tell you pretty much everything, although there are still minor differences between rubber manufacturers.

10mm spacers all round. problem solved.

Depends on how well conditioned you want it and how far you want to travel. Here's a decent looking one for £565 autotrader.co.uk/used-cars/mazda/mx-5/used-mazda-mx-5-1-6-2dr-towcester-fpa-201605063700592 though I imagine it probably has some unlisted problems.

Yes but if the new 14s are much wider they will require a different tyre and this may change the diameter, which could be a problem for him depending on how picky he is as it will alter the speedo reading which is where we were at in the latest point of the conversation.
