I'd say it is. The story's pacing is pretty unbalanced, but the gameplay mechanics are really nice. There's a lot of post-game content, too.

Has anyone ever felt that the game was daring you to stop playing?
This bridge fiasco might have been the last drop.
I wanted to replace the cobblestone bridge I had built with something more fitting to the theme of my village. Turns out Isabelle won't let me build another one in the exact same spot, because it's "too close to a villager's home", even though it isn't, and the other bridge worked just fine. It was in the most convenient, befitting spot, and now I had to move it a few steps to the west, which is not nearly as convenient and just looks plain awkward. There were dirt paths leading to and from that bridge, and now they're just leading to the river.
To top it all off, I already have TIY, but they refuse to stock anything I don't already have. Literally all five pieces of furniture, and the K.K. album, are all things I already have, and it has been like that for days.
As if the whole grass deterioration thing wasn't already the game telling you to stop playing, this happens.
I feel completely demotivated.

You're years too early to be feeling this way. The bridge won't let you place it again, because bridges need something ridiculous like 4 tiles out in a straight line when you first place them, but after that it lowers to a two tile limit away from it where you can place other stuff. Either your villager's house or it's boundary zone is within those 4 tiles. If you could move them, build the bridge, then move them back it would work. I've heard worse stories, like people building permanent public works projects, then later trying to swap a bridge close to it and getting completely screwed. This is part of the reason lots of us hate Isabelle. Basically, you're early on enough to just start over. If you don't want to do that, just completely change up the design of your town or get the villager near the bridge to move out, so I can place it back.

Of course I'm not going to start over. This is a game where you only achieve things through the passage of time. I achieved most things already by wasting months of my life. That is not an option.
I also won't have the villager move, since she's my favorite, and will never ever be back, if I know my luck as much as I'm sure I do (also, no, amiibos are not an option)
I completely understand the hatred for Isabelle now. That bureaucratic, incompetent fuck.
Changing the design of my town is most likely the option I'm stuck with. Now instead of a perfectly straight dirt path leading to a conveniently placed bridge, you have to take an awkward detour to a place where there used to be a garden. I hope I can make peace with it.

if you have homebrew you can always save edit a little and put the bridge were you want

just avoid the temptaion of editing anything else

Hey guys, so I started playing the Animal Crossing for Gamecube again and was wondering if anyone would be able to help me out here. I tried to do morning aerobics today, went to the wishing well at like 6:55 and nothing was happening. It wasn't raining, and I've already gotten my card stamped twice, though that was a week ago now. My hometown day was also July 29th, and I wasn't able to find Tortimer at the wishing well. That one didn't bother me so much since I already had the train station model from a previous year. So is this some kind of glitch or something? Is Tortimer ded? I really don't want to have to resort to getting the aerobics radio through the item code, but I guess I will if I have to.
