It takes a bit but you need to understand your shield actually covers way less than you think it does. Like if your gun is just barely clearing the cover you are behind then you are good. Most newer BB players expose themselves much more than needed.

BB takes a bit of time to learn but once you understand how your first person view relates to your character model you will become fucking unstoppable
