Reminder Roadhog is not a tank, but rather a defense hero that has 600 hp and a huge hitbox for some reason. He is the only hero in that category that cannot actively protect his team or mitigate damage; just having 600 hp and being fat means nothing.

I feel like spread accomplishes the same thing but is more flexible. Though, I'm really starting to think that damage reduction is necessary. Why does it need to be so high when the vast majority of burst damage in the game is 120? Most heroes only have an hp pool of 200 and 120 already deletes most of it. We're not even getting into sustained damage. Hell you could drop his damage to 50 and he could still 2 shot everyone with headshots. That's pretty harsh though, 60 with 120 crits would be best. Some are throwing around, "oh it's alright, it takes skill."

But doesn't using Widowmaker also take skill? She has that charge and scope (that she has to wait an animation for) to do more than 300. Doesn't landing consistent direct hits with Pharah take skill? It's not even hitscan.
Doesn't managing your spread and perfectly tracking your opponents with 76 take skill? He got penalized with more spread for it but somehow 140 spreadless no-scope hitscan headshots are fine. His own burst does, you guessed it, 120 and has a cooldown. Oh, and 76's automatic fire makes his DPS weaker to armor. McCree's burst does not have to deal with armor in any substantial way. Genji's dragon blade needs another ultimate to do more than 120 per swing on everyone.

So why does McCree get more for risking less? There are some posts I've seen with people insisting you should just headshot Tracer instead of using his right click as if that weren't a sign of a huge problem with his kit and design.

Right now it's the best cost-benefit burst damage in the entire game. And when you reach the top levels of play, where everyone can aim pretty well, that's all that matters. And didn't that warrant the Widowmaker nerf? That it became the Widowmaker game at high MMR? That's right, the problem was how stale the meta got at the highest levels of play. Not new players or bads in general. So why doesn't he have 60/120?
