I'd prefer if they just added new weapons or kept adding new stuff to the ones that already exist. Gunlance needs a serious rework, Bowguns need a rework, Lance needs a rework I mean 3U/4U evade lancing works well and all but the weapon itself is so fucking basic i'd like them to add some flavor to it. And if Styles and Arts don't make a return and Lance keeps the third long shitty poke they added to Lance in Guild style then the weapon is ruined anyways. HH also needs a rework, at least on recital animations and MVs

To be honest, reworking broken weapons and the elemental damage system is probably more than Capcom can handle considering what a disaster everything new they add is. I don't mind mounting i guess, but i don't understand why they even added it. It's such an unnecessary mechanic.

yeah, the recitals can be hard to find openings for sometimes, so that could be better. I wish we could recital out of an adept roll. as far as the MVs and damage, it's not bad. being bottom for solo TAs is to be expected for a weapon that can buff a whole party's attack. and HH solo running isn't even bad, it's only like a minute slower in TAs. when I'm casual soloing I can keep pace with my friends no problem

I agree with you that styles and arts can fuck off and Lance probably needs something added to it, but what's your beef with Gunlance and Bowguns? Gunlance has quite a lot going on with the new heat system, and I was under the impression each shot type still plays differently enough that they're all interesting and suit different hunts better. I admittedly haven't touched it outside of guild much in Gens.

As far as bowguns go, are you just talking about the disparity between light and heavy? What would you suggest instead?

HH could definitely use a damage buff to bring it inline with the other weapons. I don't think having buffs should act as a tax on its damage, it's already fairly unpopular for being a relatively hard to get into weapon.

WE if you're constantly hitting weak points. I'm using C+2 because with SnS there are some monsters where I can't hit shit but their legs until they trip.

You get 2 claws per quest reward drop, which is also were I got most of them and I needed alot.

Opposed to that, you only get one from an incredibly annoying break and even then it's not guaranteed.

I have it on my list but I think I unlocked it after doing Marshland Nightmare (Hyper Khezu, Shogun and Astalos)

Really depends on your weapon, but I'd say WE (it's easier to get since it is already part of most of the good sets, and Spirit is harder to get than in 4U).

WE gives 50% affinity when hitting a weakspot (45+ hitzone).

C+2 gives 20 raw and 15% affinity when the monster is enraged (a nerf from 25/20 of 4U).

Since monsters leave rage faster, WE is more consistent and definetely a better choice, but C+2 still has it's uses (specially in solo with certain weapons).

Cut or Impact, depending on your cat's weapon.
Check the equipment page for details.

Just pay attention to which is a first slotter and which is a second slotter, but yeah, all of these shoud be combinable in their respective charm categories.

Is it worth picking up Haphazard for bows, more specifically what number does it boost arc+power shot by? Is it just another gimmick skill?

The only attack that instantly stuns you even if you were never hit before is the water canon that has like two seconds charge time.

I think it's time to work on that spatial awareness.

Boomerang is fucking awful for that double Iodrome quest. I ended up using melee+spamming felyne comet instead.

20%, iirc. it's pretty hecking strong, especially with loadup teo's level 5 rapid

also it's a 5 slot skill for whatever reason so you can fit it on almost anything

If you can fit it into your set it's worth picking up but other Bow skills have higher priority.

Astalos is weakest to ice while Lagiacrus is weakest to fire.

In other words you can't just say this monster is X element so its weak to Y

With the right weapon (e.g. Narga SnS with Affinity Oil) and skills, you can get a critical 100% of the time.
