Lets get a carnage thread going. Heres a brake pad someone was driving with

Lets get a carnage thread going. Heres a brake pad someone was driving with

I see nothing wrong with it?

Theres no brake left on it.
That's bare metal

Get it together Tyrone

Changed the brake pads on my neighbors keep... He said they were fine..Also his roters were fucked

My compressor coil after the clutch seized and broke off on the freeway

...

...

...

...

I heard platinum plugs make you oil last longer but iridium ones make for more lubrication.

What were they trying to achieve with this?

Ball joints

...

Looks fine to me

"No, I just want the oil change"

sick camber brah you vape bro?

I think it's supposed to be a hitch?

You have to change that stuff? Shit

Okay so maybe I tried to be too artsy with this one but this fuckin' mount man, what a bitch.
Super proud i got it done, though. plan to do the other next week

"You mechanics are all the same. Always tring to screw over people. I drove it here, it's fine!"

...

>ok just fix one brake for 1/4 the estimate

jesus christ clean wherever that picture was taken

No fucking way... Tell me that vehicle was in for an alignment..

How does one even do this with MIG?

How does one look at this compared to pic related and think, "Close enough?"

I lost

one of these things is not like the other

>drive to the Nürburgring with friends
>friend has BMW E36 320i or 325i, 6 cyl
>gutted interior
>old DTM racing livery
>first lap on the Nordschleife
>at the exit, has to stand in line with hot engine
>radiator and water pump puke everywhere
>next day, install new water pump, fan, radiator cap, whatever else needed to be replaced ...
>drive another round on the Nordschleife
>scrap, scrap, scrap noises
>open engine bay
>see that the radiator wasn't properly attached and moved itself onto the fan
>fan blades where also sharpened like knives
>pic related

>2nd from left, the white Hasseröder BMW

also
>only few days before driving to the Nürburgring he had broken head gasket seals and oil everywhere

>friend with old 635 joins us late at night
>obviously a little tired after a long drive
>mistakes old closed driveway to the parking lot with new one
>old has a steep kerb and a blocking pillar (put down, though)
>announce his arrival with a really bad scraping sound
>teared off one of his (two, symmetrical) towing lugs and slightly damaged his front bumper

...

You must admit it looks kinda cool

Rauh Welt welds lookin' good!

Rear brakes on a 70s F250. Guy daily drove this. Will reply with what it should look like.

...

Leaking brake cylinder?

is this a meme?

>gutted E36 M3 wannabe with a racing livery
Fucking hell, that's bad taste. E36 M3s aren't even expensive anymore.

Brake rotor on my team's Baja SAE car last summer. Camber link bolt backed out before a jump, when it landed it went full negative camber which snapped the threads off the shock shaft of one of our custom shocks. This allowed the wheel to pull in enough that the CV joint plunge maxed out, shattering both CV cages and exploded the splines in our spool. When it came down hard from not having the lower shock mount it wadded up the brake rotor since it was almost flush with the bottom of the skid plate. This is why you safety wire your shit, cost many man hours remaking a new shock shaft, building new CV's, rebuilding the custom transaxle with a new spool, etc.

It took that to teach you nigs to safety wire? What is this, libsjw university, where everyone is a diversity pick?

Well shit

Doing my clutch today, that's what mine looked like too.

i don't have a pic but i have a story.
>be uncle
>get new powerstroke
>fuckyeah.webm
>used to have gasser
>wife was used to gasser
>wife takes truck one day for some shit or another
>fills it up
>with gas
>grenades the whole thing
>have to total brand new 60k truck
they got divorced soon after for other reasons but i have a feeling that the truck incident was a big part of it.

weren't the powerstrokes known for being fucking horrible?

they still are. piles of total dog shit.
but still, gas in a fucking diesel.

They didn't have insurance?

insurance totaled it.
engine was fucked, fuel system was kinda fucked, it was really really bad.

Oh, I read it as they had to buy a new 60k truck.

To the left is a completely blown-out Porsche 944 brake pad

To the right is an incorrectly-manufactured Chinese knockoff. It cannot be installed without the rectangular indentation in the back. Super pissed off about this because nobody had the pads in stock and I had to banzai to the junkyard for half-used temporary replacements.

>I think my head-gasket has gone

I try to refill his radiator with water, pic related happens.

Here's what happens when you get too rowdy with 35" tires on a Ford 8.8

...

>putting big tires on without upgrading your diff and axles
c'mon

...

user please, this is an blue board!

I had the 35's on the stock Dana 35 under my Wrangler for quite a while and burned through 3 sets of ring and pinions over about 40k miles. Went to a 4x4 shop and had them swap the 8.8 under. They welded on an Artec truss kit and checked everything out. The axle came from a '96 Explorer with an unknown number of miles and even though the carrier looked okay there's no telling if it had been stressed before. Regardless, it lasted me 54k miles before the carrier finally went. People run these on drag cars making a thousand horse.. but as they say, if you're not spinnin', you're breakin' something. And son, I wasn't spinnin'.

That's a sideskirt guard on the tire

Ford 8.8s are not sufficient for heavy off roading with big tires, anything with a decent amount of traction, power and weight will break them

...

>checked my front brakes when I did my back brakes
>rotor and pads appeared fine on one wheel so I put it back together
>a few months later terrible brake noise
>the 1 pad I could see and checked before was in great condition but the other 3 on the front were in terrible condition. 1 had worn all the way through the lining
>1 of my rotors looked like shit. (sorry for terrible quality pic, fucking HTC cameras)
>the slide pins had seized making them wear unevenly

now for some motorcycle shit.
This spherical bearing was stuck in there good. It cracked the bearing and swingarm when I tried to press it out.

tried to bend a banjo on a hydraulic clutch line. I learned those don't bend.

i pulled similar pads off of my girlfriend's car last month.

>"yeah it started making noise a month ago but it stopped so i'm not worried about it"
>get in car to feel what she was talking about
>coast backward down driveway on brakes
>rrrrRRRRRRRrkklKRRKKRKKrrKRkrRrkrk

women ruin everything

tried to force the tire on when installing it.

...

kekd

I always like this one because of how thin the metal is, you can see through it
