>going to look at a 244 within the week hopefully
Assuming the body checks out fine, what would Veeky Forums pay for a one-owner '90 244 with 100k miles on the nose?
Faggot alphonse
My car is nicer than yours
Not fur long
:3c
kill yourself furfaggot
For always.
You drive some shitty 240 lol who cares about your shit.
Just got new wheels at the junk yard today tho, and bits for my LS swap.
Got some sweet ass crown Vic aluminum mesh.
These ones.
Gonna lower it on coil overs, thinking of painting it rebel blue as well.
Mother of God I want a 242 so badly
But I feel like they it wouldn't be very cheap to buy one, fix it up, and then mod it into something like that
I don't even want an LS swap. I just want it like my dad's old volvo for comfy purposes
Here's the post of my Volvo right before I bought it, ended up getting it for 800 dollars. I love it.
...
If it lasts more than 2 years you made a solid deal.
Going to test drive a couple Volvos later on today.
Any specific model suggestions? I need max comfy, soft ride, mildly high ride height. I was going to test the XC90, XC70, S80, and XC60.
sounds like you want a comfy car but not a full suv, so the xc70 should be up there.
it's ugly as shit though.
i love my s60 even though it's harder on your ass than a bimmer.
Yeah, due to medical constraints I'm sort of stuck with a crossover or SUV (with the exception of a Buick LaCrosse). I don't know how the S80 feels, so I'm giving it a test drive for good measure.
I envy you user. I almost bought a turbo 850 sedan for $600 but they sold it the day before I offered to take a look at it. I now drive a $400 plain 850 wagon
S80 with touring suspension is very comfy
The only all new one right now is the XC90 and then S90 will be coming later summer. The XC90 pretty soft, but I'd try one with the air suspension.
My Volvo 940
This is my 940. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
I'm really happy with the purchase, it just needed rotors and brakes in the front and it's all set. Transmission is still tight too
Went to the junk yard and got a brake booster and master cylinder, will be nice to have power brakes again.
Been driving around with no power steering or brakes on my 240 lmao
>my shit will be so fly, you'll all see
>doesn't even have working brakes
get fucked furfaggot
It's gonna be sick man lol
Sedan a best

Busted a heater hose? Runs from the firewall behind the dipstick to the block under the intake manifold. it looks like I gotta take the manifold off to do this job so I gotta replace that gasket too. Anyone recommend anything else to tackle while I'm in there?
We will not be silenced
Nice
Any tips to make the brakes better?
I have an '08 C30 T5 and the brakes do stop the car in time, but it feels like I'm stepping on a sponge anytime I brake and don't transmit trust that the car is breaking to me
Heard replacing the rubber brake lines for steal ones helps, but the only source for that I could find was one dude who also replaced the whole brake system for a more sporty one
pic is my car
Have you ever replaced the brake fluid?
Sounds like you might need to/there might be air in the brake lines.
Gonna give it a try, thanks dude
Theres a couple mid-90s V70 station wagons on craigslist around here
How are they? I know they're on "the list"
They're good cars, but go for the 4wd ones. They have T5 engines standard which means more skidz
ive got an 09 t5 and i get the same feeling... i think they just used shitty breaks
...
I daily the S60.
got dat trans mang, getting closer
Good choice user.
$1000-1500 if its in decent condition and has been maintained. Especially if manual.
Less if its been neglected or has noticeable problems.
Just letting you know, it probably doesn't actually have only 100k. The odometers literally always fail between 100-175k. So be sure to make sure its works, and when it doesn't, use that to bargain the price down.
>mid '90s
>V70
pick one
>implying only AWD V70s got the T5
>calls AWD 4WD
>thinks haldex is good
Wow.
>avoid haldex AWD since they have less horsepower and a 70/30 power distribution
>get v70 from 97-2000 with a B5234T for hektik skids
>get one before 2000 for no throttle-by-wire
>as always, R is king but not unobtainable through mods
this, also pull a vin check on it. One that I was looking at had tons of service at electric shops every year that came up on the car report, and they still wanted $2k for it even with broken odo.
Man trying to find coupes are a pain in the ass
Wait IPD sells gullwing kits?
>finding coupes are hard
that's all I can find for sale
>IPD sells gullwing kits?
IDK but i doubt it, i bet it's a kit from scissor doors inc.
Is it rwd at least though? Coupes are hard to find in North America
Volvo mega calipers of course
I daily drive one, super comfy (850 GLT). Get the FWD, less shit to break and still pretty nimble despite its size. I can't speak for performance since I have a nasty exhaust leak but the auto is pretty smooth and the 5 cyl is plenty to get it going. Easy to work on especially for a FWD, lots of thoughtful engineering
sick 360, will it do a burnout?
...
My '98 S70 with a busted head gasket I've been procrastinating to fix just got the body above the wheel bent in so it's nearly touching the wheel...
RIP Volvo?
>what's a fender?
>Is volvo kill?
wow.
04 auto...
GTFO you have to like your volvo to post here summerfag
>dat valp
>bonerpleasestahp.gif
Go fuck yourself, if I didn't like it I would have sold it by now, just warning someone who dosent know what to expect when buying an R. Kind of like I wish someone would have done for me. Realistically, they are not practical to own unless you have the cash to keep up with them. Great cars just finicky and full of ticking time bombs. I wish it was as easy to maintain as the s80 t6 I had, she was what turned me on to volvo.
>I love the car but she's a pricey bitch
>this means he doesn't like the car
>summerfag
Pot, kettle etc
defends
>Rs are extremely mechanically different from stock v70s u guys!
>while I pic related
God, I LOVE Volvo S70's. Their square frame just.. ugh. UGH.
I want to one day own a Red Volvo like pic related. You don't understand.
Love it. Love it.
Looks beautiful. I've been thinking about getting some lights like that for the front of mine, how do those guys attach?
New wheels fur the 240 need to strip and paint them tho
kill yourself furfaggot
What kind of wheels are they?
Gibe specs m8
Lol ur funny :3c
Crown Vic 16x7 they got a nice fat lip on em, same wheel as What color should I paint them?
Are you going to use any spacers? What's the offset and back spacing?
I said specs nigga
I'd say gold center with chrome rim would look pretty hella, but that's just me.
Offset is +30 idk if I need spacers or not desu it doesn't really matter, I can make literally any wheel work.
I got a machinist who gives me hella good deals he's gonna redrill my hubs to match this lug pattern so it's all good.
I had him redrill my festiva lug pattern to fit my rotas.
He can also machine the pad on the wheel to pull it in if need be.
>Badly want an s80 V8
i dont need it
i dont need it
>242
>hard to find
Those are like pennies compared to finding my daily.
...
Looks like my local recruiter in Phoenix..
Hello, no one ever.
My sweet volvo 850
How do I into 245 ownership? I can't seem to find any good deals within an even somewhat reasonable distance from me, and they're all like 3.5k for broken odo automagics
FUCK ME I ALMOST BOUGHT AN AMAZON WAGON FOR 1K BUT PASSED IT UP FOR A CHEAPER CRX I WANT TO DIE
In a lot of places the 245 is the most wanted of the 200 series so a good one can be hard to come by for a decent price sadly.
Is that a Bertone? You cheeky fuck.
C30's are a beautiful thing.
fresno.craigslist.org
I have no idea what I'm supposed to look for in these things, what do you guys think?
Yeah, I was a bit unsure about whether I needed to get rid of the red colour on my volvo, but the finish was actually really nice and it's grown a lot on me.
Now I'm probably just gonna get the paint fixed up in the same colour when the time comes.
Loving the 94 Volvo 850 that I got a few weeks back. Best $600 I ever spent, only 208,000km too. I can't wait to do to change up the few things I want to change
List of to do
>NEW FUCKING TIRES
>Timing belt
>Rims (fuck hubcaps)
>Cat Back
Possibly :3
fuuuuck
I like that volvo, that model is that ?
Is it every bit as juicy sweet as we think? We wants it and needs it. Moar pics, please.
940
The bumper in the picture was a piece of shit so the lights were just screwed into the bumper itself, i've replaced the bumper and removed the lights now though.
...
...
...
Oh yes, just no vinyl top *yet
That is a fucking gorgeous machine, user. Beautiful. I love the colour and them classic rims just make me go hnnngg.
Indeed thanks, it's one of those cars that couldn't be appreciated in its time. Regardless of the engine choice, people would loath it as volvo trying too hard to be "ugly" or that it had no headroom l. The journalists must have been giants because I'm 6'2" and I feel comfy as ever with the way the seats bucket themselves.
Someone redid the front seat leather at one point and forgot to put the heater pads back, would the normal 240 pads work?
Yeah, volvo seats are really nice on the back, especially on longer drives.
I'm no expert, but I wouldn't see why the 240 pads shouldn't work if they fit. Interchangeability is one of the awesome things about volvos.
I guess I should go to a pick and pull to see (of there are any volvos left in the yards around texas).
This one also has an unfathomable ammount of miles for the condition it's in and for a V6, it puts down PRV haters. There used to be a 200k badge on the back from a PO from VCOA but someone ripped it off to make some nignog chain at one point :(
One more since I'm at work.
These always look sexy with a pair of flaps hangin' off
do i have the least interesting car on all of Veeky Forums?
Funny thing is that the PRV are finicky engines, but they're faithful if you just remember they're a lot higher maintenance than redblocks. And one can't deny they sound good.
