They could do away with VAs entirely if they just got a better writer. It's the aspect of the game the player is in contact with most, so having it be terrible brings everything else down.
They have a good thing going with their games; apart from the writing and general lack of porn, Sakura Dungeon was pretty good.
They may have ripped off Demon Master Chris, but it ended up being better than the aforementioned game.
Apart from the lack of porn. Nude CGs lasting for a few seconds doesn't cut it.

Impressive. I don't get this game, though, or any like it. It's just softcore porn that leaves you feeling uncomfortable in your trousers. Why buy a full price game for that feeling when there's actual porn available for free, or eroge for a smaller premium?

Well, console games, ecchi or not, tend to have higher production levels and are actually fun games with decent design and some depth compared to a lot of gameplay eroge or doujin stuff that /hgg2d/ plays. They also put more effort into the story and characters since it can't sell on the porn alone.

And playing them can just be build-up for full-on porn which is useful too.

I’ll be honest, I’m quite a bit blown away by the attempts at rationalizing and downplaying the blatant misogynistic and apparent sub-par quality of this game. I haven’t played it, but the screenshots and videos I’ve seen have made me cringe and nearly gag.

I mean, are you guys seeing what I’m seeing? This game is nothing more than rehashed generic anime bullshit(even for 2003), catering specifically to horny men of varying ages who want to delve into masturbatory fantasy.

I don’t want to come off too judgemental, people are entitled to their fantasies and escapism, but lets not pretend that this VN is representative of quality, meaningful storytelling. This is nothing more than censored hentai(till the patch) with a plot shoehorned in as a vehicle to indulge male-centrist fantasy. I mean, how many dudes are playing this game and not jerking off? I’d be hard pressed to believe those who aren’t are not in the stark minority.
