So what's the deal with the new NSX?

WTF were they thinking Veeky Forums?

onda being Honda and put a woman in charge on top of that.

The feminists are winning user. What kinda of world are we living in? I feel like no one is original anymore, they're just following the hot new social trend. It's a truly mediocre way of living life.

What's wrong with it?

It goes against every design principle established by the original, which was basically the perfect Honda and the perfect DD-able supercar.

>What's wrong with it?

She said in an interview that her high heels were the inspiration for the car's front end design.

>High fucking heels dude.

Acura just got a new CEO like last year or something, well ahead of the NSX's concept stage.

They've already stated thru PR that their new focus will be going back to its performance roots that made them popular in the 90s. So I have hope for the rest of the brand. And they're eliminating the beak grille.

>It goes against every design principle established by the original

Not it hasn't.

At the time the NSX came out back in the day it was way more technologically advanced than most cars on the road at that point.

The new NSX is another tech showcase from Honda/Acura.

>tfw people here are too young to remember that the NSX was an advanced as fuck car for the time
>Aluminum Monocoque and full aluminum body and ABS was something not alot of companies were doing at the time if any at all

>tfw high heel fetish

thats great actually

What is wrong with this, exactly? I like women, are you some kind of faggot?

How was it so technologically advanced?

> muh aluminium chassis
Still weighed 1400kg+ and was slower than cars that cost 1/3rd the price

> abs
LOL you're joking right!?!

Also forgot it had traction control and had interior trimmings that actually worked.

it was a marvel of engineering for it's time.

roadandtrack.com/new-cars/first-drives/reviews/a8837/first-drive-1990-acura-nsx/

We have a true OG in our hands channers. Watch your mouths.

>1990s
>ABS and traction control standard
>all aluminum construction
>Standard

Unless you were ferrari and shit, Porsche still used steel.

> abs and traction control
Literally nothing to write home about

> muh aluminium
Yet it still weighed considerably more than its steel bodied Japanese competitors, some trims of the nsx almost pushing 1500kg

So? It was still something never tried before on any car.

ABS and Traction control in 1990 was something of a rare thing to have and have only become standard as of recently. The ABS back in the day wasn't the ABS we all know today, it was a weird vacuum line system.

Like I said, the NSX of old was a technological showcase with alot of shit inspired directly from their F1 accomplishments.

This is just awful, I am really disappointed in the Honda/Acura design team. The last great car they designed was the S2000.

It was technologically advanced, but it was still a Honda sports car. Understated styling, screaming NA engines, and incredible reliability are what Hondas are known for, and that's what the NSX had.

The new generation should have moved towards carbon fiber construction like the Ford GT, with a low-displacement high-output V8 or V10 as the powerplant.

Honda wouldn't have taken the risk of making a V8 or V10 which is why the V10 version was scrapped.

They had to use a V6 because Honda did not want to go through the trouble of making tooling for the V8 so engineers asked if they could make a V6TT and were given the go ahead.

They couldn't really afford to put it in all carbon fiber but some parts are like the A Pillars and floor.

Also, if you hate this version they're already working on a RWD only Type R version with more horsepower I believe. Removing the motors up front would reduce the weight.

They're planning to use a KERS setup on the turbochargers as well so there's less turbolag, couple that with the motor already attached to the engine as a flywheel and you have a recipe for success in my book.

I still weighed more because it had an interior lined in leather unlike shit in the RX7 that would just fall apart

>New Sportscar eXperimental

There's literally nothing wrong with a car having sexy women features

I want to be inside something feminine, not masculine. Like are you guys a bunch of faggots or something?

sssshhh

Newfags to cars think a car from 26 years ago was "simple" because it's got shit that's standard today

25 years from now they'll be bitching that the third generation NSX is overly complicated bullshit and that they should have kept it simple like the 2017 model

Hell, didn't the 90 NSX make Porsche convert to liquid cooling for their flat 6s since the NSX handed them a BTFO?

People forget that without the NSX Ferrari would've still been making cars that today would be looked at as made in a garage by someone with a space frame and a kit car body and a glue gun.

Yeah leather adds 200kg

25 years from now people will still complain about the 2nd gen NSX, just like they do about all overhyped failures. It's not going to be a classic like the 1st gen is.

This is what a future classic looks like.

>artificial engine sounds piped into the cabin through speakers

Bruh, that's the genius of Mazda
>built in weight savings rust and plastic breaking feature
It literally increases in performance over time

>Leather
>AC that actually worked
>fully adjustable seats
>Cassette Deck
>interior that you can actually bear to use the car as a daily driver

it's 2016. progressive feminism shit is in right now. honda took the b8 and put a slut in charge of design

god it looks like shit

>believing this

It's piped but not through speakers and mics.

> Acura engineers admit to piping in the engine sounds, but it’s at least rerouted naturally and not played through the speakers.

This has been part of survival and mating rituals for millennia my absent minded user. An Alpha male should always project masculine traits and energy to attack females or feminine energies. I surely don't want to be in something feminine if I'm trying to attack a female. You can see the conflict there my sub-beta manlet. You are a disappointment.

>Hell, didn't the 90 NSX make Porsche convert to liquid cooling for their flat 6s since the NSX handed them a BTFO?
That was probably the FD.

You're right about Ferrari though.

Without this man Italian and English sports cars wouldn't exist today.

>Kids look up Soichiro Honda.

I would say in their current form.

Man has always wanted to go faster

Do you usually wear dresses? It would put you inside something sexy and feminine.

I could pull it off better than whatever you call a lay

WTF?

This is completey true, but it's too bad that the standard for sports cars has turned into "pushing the technological limit" instead of "pushing the performance limit." The NSX used to represent the pinnacle of grassroot motorsport, unfortunately not anymore. But then again the driving enjoyment may still be there so who knows...

> pinnacle of grassroots motors port
> in hideously expensive and ultra limited production vehicle
Sure thing

>the pinnacle of grassroot motorsport
You do realize the base model was like $80k back in 1990, right? How the fuck is that grassroot in any way?

The NSX was and always will be an exotic supercar that rich people can daily drive

friendly reminder the NSX was the fastest japanese car before the r35 GTR

it was just as fast as corvettes and 911 turbos of the era

I want you to know that if you are trolling you succeeded because the degree to which these posts missed the point is infuriating me

Slower in best motoring time attacks than Japanese cars that cost literally 1/30th the price

> 10k evo faster than 300k nsxr
Lol

I would own an NSX right now if the prices didn't skyrocket, guess I better start looking at C5 Z06s now

These Evos keep getting cheaper and these NSXs keep getting more expensive

>go kart tracks

> eurocuck toll roads

look faggot

stop making excuses, the NSX is faster around the nurburgring

thats the relevant course here, not some meme go kart track

The ring is not an acceptable benchmark for that era as hardly any Japanese cars were tested there
Tsukuba always has been the pinnacle of time attack tests for Japanese cars
Stay mad the super expensive and rare nsxr is btfo by cars 1/20th to 1/30th it's cost

The NSX was designed to compete with European sportscars, not Japanese tuner boi specials

So it was designed to compete in a lower class, lol so pathetic

So fucking sweet!!!

>as hardly any Japanese cars were tested there
nissan did, and the R33 only managed a 7:58, subaru also took the first gen impreza
blitz took a modified supra there
sport auto did some laps around with the 5th and 6th gen evo

u are just grasping at straws

nsx should have been a cayman fighter.

No one that gives a shit about the nsx can afford the monstrosity they created.

Somebody post pics of the designers phat ass already, only good that can come of this thread

It costs 2/3 of a Ferrari 488 and performs at that level, the original also cost 2/3 of the Ferrari 348 and performed at that level as well

If you want a Cayman fighter look for another S2000

>cayman fighter

The original NSX was out to embarrass 911s, Ferraris and Corvettes. Not sportscars even though it had sportscar in it's anagram.

She's fat? I always thought she was a stick

Why does the new NSX trigger Veeky Forums so much? None of you have had the chance to drive it, and I doubt any of you have driven the old NSX either.

Are you bitching just because of how the car looks in pictures? Have you actually seen one in the flesh?

Miata owner detected

I can't wait till it goes around nurburgring so we can really shitpost about

I hope it was a good lap

>Veeky Forums bitching about cars they've never driven
Tell me something new

I've driven the original NSX, and although it's great it pales in comparison to the S2000 as a pure driver experience. I love the thing but it makes compromises for every day drivability
>smaller front wheels for more leg room
>interior decked out in leather
>6 disk CD changer in 1990
>modern ABS
>electric power steering in the '93+ cars
>targa tops as the main model in the '95+ cars
>heavy power seats
>nice sound system

It was a car you you could fire up like an Accord and drive comfortably

a fat ass doesn't mean she's fat.
look at her child bearing hips dude. look at them.

think you mean BMW friend
>mfw BMW actually made performance cars once
