just lacks a Project CARS post under it and people like you shitting on it for "not being a proper simulation game"

I've seen Initial D Extreme Stage posted here a few times so I was wondering if I could get some advice. I'm using the MR2 and I have been able to beat the initial racers twice except I can't beat Takumi on Akina even once. I'm perplexed as Takumi is 8 star difficulty but I can defeat the other 8 star drivers and I can even beat the 9 star Godfoot including rematches. Is it a car choice problem or is this scrub going to have to git gud.
Ian Long
Owait, the invitation was actually for 17th, only registration is for today. Means I have time.
Any hints on using a G23 properly? Going to connect it now.

Extreme stage has some really bullshit rubberbanding.
I used a Sileighty, but i don't think car choice really matters. I beat him when the game was new, but IIRC you absolutly cannot even so much as touch a wall, and you have to use the gutters.
James Garcia
I just picked up Riff Racer. It's an Audiosurf clone with drifting and shit. It's pretty basic, but I'm having more fun than I did in Audiosurf.
I'm on Twitch as 0medo if anyone wants to peep this game.

Can you do webms?, would rather see BeamNG webms than Shift2 ones.
Also for everyone who just did a fresh install of rfactor, get this and install it in your rfactor folder. It has useful stuff like trackmap realfeel, fps fix etc.
Also when you upgrade your car, use the Group A engine.

okay /ovg/ I am well aware that not too many of you guys are terribly fond of PCARS but I think I might have topped the most retarded bug record.

People seemed to enjoy 86s in ahvenisto, and I had fun battling it with tomthy and katsuo, so I guess we can do this next week too as an official ovg series I guess. 6 weeks should be enough.

I'm new to racing sims but I find them pretty fun so I downloaded rFactor last night. Why does everything feel like its physically not able to turn? I feel like I cant clear corners without crashing unless I slow down a lot.

>I feel like I cant clear corners without crashing unless I slow down a lot. Uh yeah, that's how cars work. The brakes exist for a reason.
Seems that many people underestimate the timing, skill, and physical knowledge needed to drive a real race car. It is not "stomp on the gas and turn sometimes", nor can you expect a vehicle to proceed thru a 90-degree turn at 160 mph, but so many people I've personally introduced to rFactor or other sims make the same stupid mistakes, trying to play it like Need For Speed, often complaining when the car responds by understeering into a wall because they went to full lock under full braking.
Frankly it frightens me a little to know that there are people on this planet who don't take driving seriously enough to even know what understeer is or why it happens.
Adam Flores
using physics objects for signage in BNG would make it run about 10 times slower. Just adding a single soft-body hay bale drops frames like adding another car, and you already need a supercomputer to run the damn thing with more than two cars anyway.
You can spawn barrels, gas canisters, and cinderblock walls if you really want something movable to smash into anyway.

I would murder an orphanage to make that happen.

It's a lot harder when you have little to no feedback. A full-sim racing game with a full rig will never be anything like actually driving on a track. You only get visual and audio (and occasionally basic touch) feedback, where actually being in the seat allows you to use every sense to pilot the vehicle.

Anyone else in the Pixel Car Racer beta?
Evan Wright
You can get LFS for free, and RWD car from free version is okay for drifting. Also, there are many tutorials and drift online servers in this game and you'll probably get some help there.
or you won't because dudebro drifting is terrible community-wise and half of people you'll ever encounter will be either lowlifes or kids. anyway, worth a try.
James Jenkins
These cars were amazing fun, glad to see it turn into an actual series. Custom skins: Yay or Nay?
Kayden Parker
Still, many of us race and git at least somewhat gud with a sim. The visual, audio and force feedback becomes enough to go fast.
But we would definitely do better with full feedback conditions. I found this out whenni went karting the other day. You hear the tires when you apply too much lock, turn too hard, feel the rear slip, and the bumps are next-level shit.
But simracing is not complicated and anyone who doesnt get a grip to it within a reasonably short time is a shit driver. >Gitting gud is the hard part
Asher Richardson

Xavier Smith
this one
Blake Walker
kek, I was planning on that one anyway. What makes it a meme though?
Hunter Perry
damn that's a fucking sick model where to cop
Luis Martin
basically this Use headphones to hear the tires, practice more, watch replays to get a better idea of things and eventually your mind will fill in the blanks. "soft hands" on the wheel helps with force feedback. >take a week break from sims >come back to a numb and boring experience >hours later am Takumi
Dylan Nelson
>mfw really want to git gud at rfactor >I only have a shitty ps3 controller at the moment
