I literally cannot kill anything with fusion rifles after this recent patch.

Last night I went 26 and 3 in mayhem using nothing but the vendor Vacancy and was having great fun doing extremely well using nothing but that for a few hours but ever since this morning I have maybe killed 30% of the people that I've been trying to kill and I don't know what has happened. Like people would be pretty close standing still looking away from me and on my screen I'd land a full burst on them but they'd only lose their shields and a portion of health and just turn and kill be before I could either charge and fire a second shot or change weapons and shoot. It's being really frustrating.
