if you take Druid for Telepathy I really doubt you could lose a 2vs2. You just buff your other guy, hardlock down one of them (preferably the cleric) and it'll be a 2vs1 almost instantly.

Cast an Energy bolt to something and look the damage then x3 it to see if you can safe proc them :^)
Remember Birds are faster and attack before than the spell which proc them
