Thanks for all the entries in the fifth /mkg/ fashion contest-- Maritime Moes, Beachside Boys, and Nautical Nizikanos! As you know, this contest has a beach and sea theme, and I think all of our contestants have made some wonderful outfits following that. Without further ado, I present the contestants. I like Seri for being more of an old military navy captain with the ship accessory when everyone else did pirates. Moe is also navy but it's an obvious/standard outfit that doesn't quite match the old ship. But I probably won't vote for anything on a ship anyway.

Pirates are an outlier idea, or I would have thought they would be. Meaning swimsuits are the natural idea to do that I would have expected more of, yet we have a lot of pirates. Actually since MCC must vote for 7 entries I will probably vote for a couple of the more unique pirates and swimsuits as my last picks.

What's wrong with pirate outfits? They're very related to the theme.

They are only tangentially related, this was supposed to be a beach sluts contest. I would say pirates are a completely different category on their own.

I have a question regarding Dream Girlfriend. Do gatcha sets or events ever cycle back around? I tried using the NP gatcha to get this hairstyle I really wanted, but it got phased out before I was able to get RNG on my side.

There will be other hairstyles you will like. Every gacha set gets 2 hairstyles and every event gets at least 1. Even if they have some exclusive shades they usually will make again the same shade later with a new hairstyle so that you can combine the bangs and hair.

Yeah, it's not a big deal or anything. I already have a hairstyle that's similar enough to the one I wanted, it just would've been nice.

Which one is it? If it's R rarity you can try requesting it. After being upgraded enough, group closets can allow you to give and take R and N items freely, so there's that. Someone might have it.

I think they had a limited time thing with some of the old items in it, but only some.

Pretty sure it's not R. It's that pink twintails hair that was paired up with that mermaid.

On that note. I wouldn't mind seeing more monstergirl items like elf ears or something.

Damn, that's a real shame. I have two of them too. It's a fair business model on AMB's part not to allow free-for-all gifting, but still, that's disappointing.

Trust me I'm pissed as hell about it. I never thought something like that would happen. I cant even load the game up without getting really sad ;-;. The thing is I know I saved the info somewhere... I just can't find it.

When the game first came out everyone loved it, said the drawings were better, 3d was better, and all that stuff..

I guess everyone doesn't like it now. I can understand why.

It's easier to find because it includes the word "girlfriend" and it received a lot of hype in /jp/, we were very interested too but grew bored of it pretty fast.

So what's the difference between Moe Can Change and Dream Girlfriend, anyway? Just judging from the wiki they seem pretty similar.

MCC is more user friendly and less of a mess, and DG's events are all the same while MCC's make it so some players just play for the events.

The theme that was voted on was "Beaches and Seas", not "Swimsuits". At the time, while themes were being suggested and before voting began, someone mentioned that the two themes related to the water were similar enough to be merged. I agreed, and at the time and throughout voting no one objected. This remained true up to and through when the winning theme and criteria were announced, the interim before the contest began, the entry period, and all the way up to now until you decided to get salty.

Sorry you're retarded and can't rank some of your own preferences. The way the points work is noted in the interest of transparency.

At this point, the main differences are the Live2D and the directly social aspects in the groups and messaging. There were many who complained that you could not give intros to individual DGs; the game has since changed so that you now can. In DG you can message anybody; in MCC that is limited to your friend list. DG has Groups, which has various game functions and includes a Group Chat. Other differences include the shops. MCC has a larger and more permanent shop with Studio Sakura and the CAN Shop, which are updated from time to time with new items. By contrast, DG has a thus far very static free gacha and a limited shop that intermittently has new items available for a limited period of time. Both games have gachas that can be played with both game's free and paid currencies.

Oh, and as mentions, the events in both games are different. DG's events are basically just pressing a button to advance while MCC's are pressing a button to advance with a gimmick, which is usually to press a button to advance in another way. Occasionally the gimmick is more substantial; last event you had to answer quiz questions occasionally when you were pressing a button to advance.

And as you can see by post, the move away from the pressing a button to advance formula was not universally well-received.
