>driving 20 year old car with sensors >get crankshaft position code >okay.jpg
>car starts shaking like michael J fox on meth >y pipe bouncing against floorboards >get stuck in bridge traffic >car starts banging around more, starts losing power and shuddering >pray to the car gods that I can make it home >because of a $50 sensor
Asher Davis
This is life with an older car user. This is what you give up to have something cheap.
If $50 ain't much to you why not go around the engine and replace all the sensors. Most likely are not $50 each and that will eliminate this happening again.
Gotta look at old cars like airplanes user, it is all about preventative maintenance. Fix what you know will go wrong with age before it goes wrong and you cause a traffic jam for the rest of the wagecucks.
Come on user, don't be a silly goose.
Jordan Gutierrez
This is why Carburetors > FI
Ayden Ross
>be driving carbureted vehicle >old as the sun >smallest piece of debris makes it into the carb. car dies >rains Car dies >change altitude Car dies >go to smog test Won't pass >cold outside Smells like fuel and sticks to your clothes
Easton Rivera
>smog test
>living in california
Kayden Thomas
I know user. It's just frustrating that the engine and transmission are still wrecking pussy at 101k miles, yet it goes to shit because of a sensor.
Benjamin Jones
lol I learned on one of these! when it warmed up it wouldn't even idle.
so just learning how to drive and every time I came to a stop I had to push all three pedals.
stranded me at school a couple times when it rained, ended up having to walk home in the rain.
Missing out on all of above because of once every two year $60 test... retarded.
Bentley Foster
literally in the exact same boat as OP >20 YO car > crank postition sensor > violent shaking
ordering a new sensor this week for when i give this car the full service since i just bought it.
> valve cover gasket > spark plug O-rings > oil change > fuel filter > air filter > spark plugs all with OE parts even though the car company left the country lol
Jason Kelly
>driving car with no electronics >starts after sitting for 30 years >it just werks
Kayden Davis
>Buy a 1997 Jetta for $700 >Of course it doesn't run >Run codes >Some p0322 bullshit, look it up >Crankshaft Position Sensor >Spend 4 hours taking out a motor mount and fishing for a 5cm sensor >tfw that $50 sensor made the 700 hunk of shit double in value >tfw i got a running mk3 jetta for $750
Feelsgoodman
Gabriel Harris
You pay $50 Shop buy from bigstore for $20 Big store buy from car company for $10 Car company buy sensor from Factory for $5 Factory buy a component from china for $0.01 That's your fucking life costs user Live with it.
Carter Watson
>20 yo car >fixed with $50 sensor
Sebastian Cook
>tfw daily a carbureted vehicle >tfw never have any of these problems
Jaxson Sullivan
Yeah now do your timing belt like you should user.
Why do you think the sensor started reading fukt shit?
Easton Brown
Your timing is PFF, causing it to run like shit, and your cps is what is telling you your pile of shit jumped timing on you. Probably way late. You are bitching on the internet about it, rather than understanding the system.
This is literally why you have check engine lights that come on at anything.
Shitheads like you will do mental gymnastics to blame shitty idle, no power, and fucking death shaking on the sensor, when the sensor is telling you your shit is fucked, you describe your shit being fucked, then you call the whole system stupid.
If it was the sensor, your car wouldn't START.
do your timing belt, the commit sudoku
Cooper Long
Oh, and
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE fucking normies
Julian Watson
This is a terrible perspective if you like your money.
Airplanes are not cars. I understand you may have familiarity with airplanes,
But labor and cost of replaceing all relevant emissions sensors would be... Astonishing.
Michael Price
not that guy but I assure you it would be astonishing on a airplane too but airplanes unlike cars hold there value and last forever, there built initially to a higher standard likes ships and are designed with a long life and many owners in mind.
Brandon Thompson
ITT halfwits confuse cam timing with ignition timing.
Sebastian Cruz
These are all wrong except for the last unless you have a shitbox. Only the last is true because lolchoke
Matthew Russell
It's yearly in Nevada, test last like 5 mins and is about $25 but that's cuz i go to a local pop shop that's been around for 499 years. otherwise it's only $15
Asher Turner
wat car m8?
Jordan Carter
some sensors age, some don't learn the difference.
