How simple do you want it to be? Because something along the lines of Urban Champion, or Yie ar Kung Fu would be pretty easy, and I would say pretty nice as a short time project.
Henry Green
>Tfw your whole game is full of shitty looking graphics because "I'll change it later"
Grayson Sullivan
So this is the power of Unreal!
Aaron Nelson
Both the lewd and stealth jam pages have stupid descriptions and completely lack any style, there's not even a banner with the AGDG logo. This is disgraceful, fix those jams.
Aiden Perry
The sidebar especially, but the buttons to a lesser extent. Like, you've got a very minimalist, clean art style in the game itself, and then you've got diagonal neon button prompts and some sort of grainy brick wall looking sidebar. I don't even know that you should have the sidebar cover a whole side of the screen like that.
Angel Russell
>stupid descriptions
in what way
Nicholas Martin
Now cameras can be limited to whatever polygons I feel like which works a lot better than rails do in sections like this where it needs to bend around a sharp corner.
Adam Sanders
>repostan The red background is now pulsating slightly
I think that my game will automatically become a collectors item
Eli Turner
>This jam is for sole consumption by the association of anonymous, psuedonymous, tripfagging or namefagging individuals (Community), who post on the websites Veeky Forums.org, tumblr.com, discordapp.com, and reddit.com/r/gamedev, known as the Amateur Game Dev General (AGDG). Filling the description with 90% unrelated shit
>In addition, just for fun, a special lewd mystery prize (!) will be awarded to the developer of the highest rated submission when the jam ends. >highest rated submission /agdg/ jams have never had ratings and should never have ratings. It's always just been for fun, not dick stroking "winners".
Anthony Cook
>implying I will release anything
Andrew Price
you're a salty guy
Alexander Morris
the compos had winners and prizes
Asher Williams
>"Finally, my game is complete" >burn it on one disc >delete all files >release the disc into the wild It will be the ultimate collector's item.
Nathan Young
Might do a DVD or CD ROM release for my game to give it an extra retro feel
also wew. my first """"texture""""

Progress: This will probably be the final look and speed of the sun rising animation, but the characters' palettes will be a little brighter in the daylight. Villagers and Hunter probably will get a "praise the sun" animation too
Bentley Rivera
Man I suck at spriting.
Justin Adams

Zachary Smith
Not him but stealth jam's description is actually pretty cringy. is trying to hard to be funny and "so randum xD"
Lewd Jam failed with the prize thing. That's the kind of thing that only generates drama. If a game with good art and bad gameplay "wins" people will complain that we only care about art in games. If an ugly looking game with good gameplay wins people will complain that we choose a bad game because is not appealing to their dicks, then people will start complaining that the prize was rigged and we will have to deal with all that circlejerking drama shitposting for months.

its a _small_ mystery prize 100% for fun you are really taking things way too seriously
Colton Garcia
Welcome to AGDG. There will be drama.
Caleb Evans
>they said lewd was rigged >was almost a tie

>he believes all people that joins uploads a game how's your first jam, user?
Camden Lewis
spacejam had 100 people joining and only 15 games though
Parker Carter
>he thinks people can upload games to the jam without joining the jam
Isaac Carter
Can't wait >100 joined >5 games tops Accept the facts. Most of the lewd voters have on intention of making a game. They're horny nodevs who want to play lewd games made by someone else. Some even came out and admitted to it.
Luke Howard
ok
but there's [1] participant in stealth jam
Levi Green
>he just proved he is new to agdg jams welcome, user, hope you have fun. and see this
Nicholas Johnson
enjoy your 1 game best case scenario
Sebastian Perry
That's because the link is either hidden under a spoiler or put in a different part of the OP post like last time so people don't notice it.
Samuel Diaz
should I join the stealth jam to boost the stats or just continue with my own game?
Jayden Ward
you could say its stealthed
Wyatt Murphy
"join jam" literally does nothing but show a counter of how many people "joined". You can submit a game whether you "joined" or not.
In fact I have never "joined" a jam, I always just submit my game during the jam.
Chase Kelly
let's boost the stats i'm thinking of making a few dummy accounts and joining too
Levi Bell
This is the average lewd voter. >doesn't know how james work >doesn't have a game >probable doesn't have an itch.io account either
Jaxson Morris
Game jams are for losers with shit games, continue with your actual good game
Camden Lewis
Faggot nodev.
Don't join if you don't plan on making a game for it.
Evan Barnes
now try doing it and not joining the jam
Benjamin Hernandez
If you're going to shitpost, at least do it about something that can lead to productive discussion, like OOP.
Mason Cooper
this is the average stealth voter
Josiah Price
I'm thinking about doing that too. I just got a small idea that could work, it would be a really simple game and will look ugly as fuck but why not?
Wyatt Price
How do I start making a game? Do I need a computer?
Evan Jones
not him but I'd still like to try and collab with a team
Kevin Green
pic related is the average lewd poster's game
Adrian Rogers
Stop it guys
Matthew Martin
post stealth progress
Austin Carter
ok
Colton Cox
Its not that bad
Jeremiah Wood
post lewd progress
Luke Long
hello friends here I am again to show you all the extraordinary progress I am currently making with my amazing video game youtube.com/watch?v=WZ7oraxt_MQ thanks and god bless
Levi Davis
>Don't join if you don't plan on making a game for it. I meant boosting the stats = boosting the number of games
nah, jams are pretty good. Here are my stats, it's purely from /agdg/ game jams and a couple non-/agdg/ jams, nothing else.
Jace Phillips
Do I need a computer to make games?
Hunter Carter
sprites are ok, background color is killing my eyes tho
Leo Flores
No, you can make games on your phone.
Colton Torres
not at all
Noah Green
1-4 sleep 5-8 continue deving until I pass out 9 video games 0 watch movie
Juan Mitchell
Nope, all you need is a play station 1
Julian Evans
close your eyes then
Mason Richardson
Those things are just small computers.
I mean can I write my game on paper and send it to Microsoft or Nintendo and they'll compile it?
Wyatt Martinez
Generic 2D platformer progress + Reads level from .txt file + Basic movement (left, right, jump) + Player constrained within level size - Blocks 'outside' the screen are rendered(no noticeable performance hit yet) - Physics are affected by current fps - No block collision detection
Connor White
board games
Bentley Parker
no, that's not what I mean. games are just a set of rules, you don't need a computer to enforce them, you just have to convince the players to follow them.
Austin Diaz
games have existed for way longer than computers, I'm sure you'll manage
Easton Myers
Of course you can. They probably get a few every year from 5 year olds who think they're game designers.
or try
Charles Gray
Inane question which gets all the (You)s because everyone loves sharing their inane opinions?
Liam Lee
>no collision
what are you waiting for!
Jeremiah Ross
I want to make a video game, but not to use a computer (including consoles and phones) to do it.
Sebastian Ramirez
You want to be an ideas man.
Lucas Rivera
better grab a soldering iron and some transistors
Luke Nguyen
I can program
Easton Hernandez
No, you can't. Stop lying.
Caleb Fisher
frankly I'm surprised you've gotten as many (You)s as you have.
Carson Anderson
I work as a software developer. I want to make games in my spare time, but I don't want to have to stare at a screen to do it.
Ryder Hernandez
On it family just gotta restructure my shitty code, all is contained within one file and is a pain to work with as is
William Sullivan
do this man you can program your game logic directly on the circuit boards without using a computer
Sebastian Evans
whatever helps me avoid making progress
Angel Ward
I guess I'm popular here. It feels nice.
To elaborate: I want to protect my eyes, spending 8 hours looking at a screen is bad enough, I don't want to do more.
Mason Kelly
...
Dylan Young
f.lux
Adam Flores
that's way easier. just do what blind people do to use computers
Joseph Lewis
And yet you're here, shitposting on Veeky Forums. Why do I not believe you?
