The asteroid is on another Z-level. you can go to the edges of a Z-level to go to another, random Z-level (that isn't centcomm.)
As a ghost you can use the 'teleport' command to jump to specific places.

Each z level is a 500x500 square
Z level 1 is where the main station is

When you cross one of the four edges of a z level you get moved to the edge of another z level, while maintains the same velocity and direction.

Fly around in space with a jetpack and a GPS and you'll figure it out fast
