Reminder that matchmaking knows when you are on a losing streak and it WILL attempt to place you in stacked teams to ensure you continue that streak.

Why does Overwatch feel so hard to analyze my skill in?

SC2 was great, I could identify all the places I messed up after every round. Bad macro here, poor build decision there, and so forth. The game felt very deterministic and it was easy to see (and therefore measure improvement in) my mistakes.

When that game died I switched to dota 2. Obviously it's harder to identify your mistakes in a team game, and you have to constantly second guess hero choice when analyzing any fuckups in game. But nontheless, you can see where you missed lasthits or were underfarmed, and strategical mistakes are fairly evident.

Overwatch leaves me clueless. Aside from the absolute smallest tactical mistakes, where I missed a shot or misused a skill or was out of position, it feels impossible to find the flaws in my play. Did I pick heroes poorly, or did my team play poorly, or did I? Was my team shitters lacking individual skill or were we disorganized? I can't tell.

Not knowing how to improve is sucking the fun out of the game for me. Grinding matches mindlessly for untargetted practice doesn't itch that competitive need.

Which is the biggest noskill hero? Reaper or Junkrat?

The width of the hooks hitbox is the same as his reticle.

Reflecting a zarya ult back is also pretty fucking awesome.

When the fuck did they mess with Mei's wall's hitboxes? I stopped playing for a month, and now whenever I do a long wall at my feet I've got a 50/50 chance of being shunted to the side instead of being thrown on top of it.

I used to hop the left gap on Hanamura B by ice walling high enough to make the jump without having to stop or anything, but now that it's pushing me aside half the time I have to fucking stop, stare at my feet, ice wall, and see if I'm standing on top of it before I move. And if I'm not, what the fuck, I just wasted all that time going over there for nothing. The fucking wall is more than a character thick, how can I NOT be put on top of it when it's perfectly straight in front of me?

I find myself asking the same question all the time. Sometimes your steamrolling and feel like your doing great, and then you realize you have almost no medals and wonder. Or you team is getting crushed, but no one is doing well. With no one backing you up it seems like you just instantly die to two or three enemies ganging up on you, but even then you wonder if you're part of the problem.

I feel like its the overall lack of information the game gives you. No real scoreboard and no way to tell what team mates are doing if you aren't looking right at them. Without voice communication, I've finished matches not even realizing a hero was being played during that match on our team.

What, playing at 30MMR where everyone stands in place and just gets shot at?

Fatter projectile=more likely to overlap with your hitbox. The fact that you see the hook connecting with the corner of your screen is proof that it's actually working as intended (if maybe sometimes the pulling through walls isn't).

You should have moved sooner, anticipating the hook or sprinted in the other direction.

junkrat easily, he has a bit of a skill ceiling with jumping up to good positions but you can pretty much just spam your main weapon in the general direction of the other team and perform average

Because Overwatch lacks anything that requires a lot of mechanical skill. Movement is shit for all but 2 characters and aiming is only important on Widow.

People win with positioning and ult/ability stacking.
