Why do I sometimes reload, sometimes, dash, and sometimes go into siege mode after a successful dodge? I want to minimize the amount I'm fucking up here.

Completely false. You must not have used the weapon at all.

If you don't press X after an Adept evade you'll do a boosted reload. You can follow up from there with a quick shot (by pressing A), by going in Siege mode (X) or just doing nothing, which locks you in place but doesn't waste ammo.

If you DO press X you'll do a sprint that doesn't consume stamina and can be stopped with a roll.

How do I use and switch trhough monster arts?

If you adept evade with your weapon sheathed you only get two options: either quickly unsheath your weapon with a roll (X) or quickly go into siege mode (X->X). It's really situational but still good to know.

Touchpad is most convenient.

I'm trying hyper steve, but horn+ is only a subquest reward for it. Breaking the head is easy, but for some reason I have a hell of a time breaking the legs for finish the subquest, so I almost never get any horn+. Shit fucking sucks.

Can load plenty of pierce shots and doesn't need a Recoil down skill. As a plus it's also really easy to fully upgrade.

Rathalos loses the dumb "fly up, does nothing/3 fireballs, land" move.

Rathian lands incredibly slowly after a tailflip.

Makes them piss easy to hammer or GS back in FU because you just stand next to their shadow and charge.
