What's a good budget ADV bike? I've been looking for something that's comfy for mostly long distance highway rides, plus some twisties and dirt road adventures. I'd love an 800GS but they seem pretty expensive.

Why would they? lorenzo's was a fresh-ish engine that went pop anyway, not an old one.

Why would there be any indication that what happened would happen again? that it wasn't simply a one off mechanical defect and a unique circumstance? these yamahas don't blow up much.

I'm sure if rossi felt his engine needed to be swapped they would have done it, there's no logical bed to rest on in terms of swapping the engine other than paranoia though.

We don't even know if he had swapped the engine that it wouldn't have popped as well soon it was a fresh lorenzo engine that went, then it'd be all "why did they swap the engine?"

So I just had my first real close call.

Was going around a corner, TOTWing all my shit. Now, I know this corner. I've taken it dozens of times. No issues. There used to be a steel plate in the lane, but they patched it over like a week ago. Towards the exit, there was a brand new giant fucking pothole that I didn't even see. My front tire didn't hit it, somehow. Or maybe it did. But my rear tire left the road with the bike still leaned probably 20 or 25 degrees, and I'm going at least 45. So now, my rear tire is in the fucking air, not in line with the direction I'm moving. It comes down and slides probably 15 feet, catches, and lurches me. Nearly high sided, but didn't try to be a hardass on the handlebars. Fishtail probably 5 times. Bike straightens, I shit myself, finish the run, and go the fuck home. Not pushing my luck tonight. Something's out of sync.

If my front tire had hit that pothole, I don't know if I would have saved it.

I've fishtailed from hard braking a few times. Once when I wasn't going more than 25, somehow. Probably just stomped the rear brake too hard without enough front.

limited engine changes in motoGP. It's on a schedule. Engines don't get swapped because someone asks.

That being said I expect they both get engines on the same schedule. So if one is bad, so might be the other.

you sure about that? i don't know the exact rules but i know they only have 7 engines total. sounds too restrictive that they can't use them how they want to. if lorenzo's problem had been diagnosed, they should be able to swap rossi's if they wanted to. 0 points for two races basically ended rossi's season

I know Harleys are mostly a brand name deal and their designs are old. Other than that are there any issues with a harley?

the older models leak oil. youll probably spend more time and money fixing it than riding it. it will need more than a head gasket and throttle cable

the newer harleys are better, no oil leaks, etc
