What is the best non H+ build on 1era? Heads up before I attempt

I don't want to sound rude, but half the experience of AC games is thinking smart and using your limited budget to try and gauge what you should buy to cover your bases as you progress to the point were you have lots of money to spend and by that point you will probably know how you want to pick a build that fits your playstyle. It may not sound like it, but the process is pretty fun.

I guess so.

Yes, I know not everyone here likes steam, but I thought it looked interesting.

Everything since the later AC3 games doesn't have tank controls anymore. Get one of the PS3 titles/expansions, they're cheap. Report back when you do so collective videogames can happen

Alright ended VD story mode, going through missions again to unlock pieces and raise rank. It sure left me with a lot of questions though.
Who are the Reaper squad?
What's the connection between the Foundation and the Corporation?
Where do the Towers and the unmanned weapons even come from? They weren't a thing in 4th gen as far as I can remember.

Also, any tips for S ranking Iron Rose?

>Who are the Reaper squad?

Special hitman squad of the foundation/corporation, probably made after their encounter with the Dark Raven.

>What's the connection between the Foundation and the Corporation?

While we have nothing explicit, probably the same entity with a different name for a different time.

>Where do the Towers and the unmanned weapons even come from? They weren't a thing in 4th gen as far as I can remember.

Again nothing explicit, but we can guess they were made as a last heaven on earth by the league after FA. When they decide that there wasnt a way to clean the planet and everthing was lost, they left earth and left their 2 AI, Chief and Carol, on control of the towers, their techonology and any other facility they had. Chief and Carol now masterless, decide to study humanity.

>Iron Rose

OW?

...

>Where do the Towers and the unmanned weapons even come from? They weren't a thing in 4th gen as far as I can remember.
Actually, couldn't the towers be Megalis-like structures? Megalis apparently supplied energy to millions of people, and it was never specified that Megalis was a unique one off structure.

As for the unmanned weapons, maybe those were made post-FA in order to fight in areas that are so contaminated that not even a Lynx can survive in them.

>"I could never get into AC because of the controls"
>All AC games have completely customizable Controls

wut

>Iron Rose
Sniper cannon quad, kill tank first, then just deal with the kickbot normally

I'm pretty sure the Reaper Squad wasn't working for the Foundation, if anything it was the other way around. The reaper squad leader (J) ran the foundation too.

>Iron Rose
Get yourself a quad leg AC with the fastest firing single-shot sniper cannon, throw it on high firing stability arms and use ammo extensions. Pop it out right at the start of the match, you can stunlock the tank and kill it within a few seconds. Same with the biped. Unlike a UW or missiles this has really low ammo cost and you won't take damage. It's guaranteed S-rank if you don't run out of ammo.

In the best case, only J had connection to the foundation, and the rest only took orders from him and probably didnt know about the foundation or anything.

Wasn't there a tie-in story about the transition between V and VD, but Bamco was full of idiots who bungled it in translation? Same thing happened with Sega and AC4's story.

Megalis is a solar updraft tower, look at its 4 layout when it was a full level.
What do the towers look like?

>it's a real thing
Huh. I figured it was just another weird From scifi building.

Not related at all

The towers were supposed to be a Tree of Knowledge / Garden of Eden metaphor. They had 4th gen technology inside them, and were protected by scavengers/AI weapons under the idea that until humanity could defeat the weapons they weren't ready to responsibly have access to kojima technology anymore.

The difference between Megalis and a real updraft tower is mostly scale, and the fact that Megalis has an habitable component underneath the mirrored surfaces.

How do you even finish Attack on cranium on hard? Shit is difficult with otsdarva
>set on 1.15
>he's on crack
>just send Raven and Fatmam
>earth is now Sahara
I always wondered what happened to destroyed NEXTs.

>destroyed NEXTs
Dropped into the ocean, just like nuclear waste.
I'd say Ostdarva was the first to come up with the idea.

Then what stops guys from recovering it, I mean unless sub tech doesn't exist.
You know, if Motherwell was recovered and fixed up, what happened if it was the Sol dios land crab or answerer that was recovered by pure chance?
Man I wish orbit weapons were usable.

...

Well considering NWGIX, LiV Exusia are thing I'd say that yes, NEXTs or similar tech still exists, but most of it is probably unrecoverable. The Foundation/Corporation are kinda the only ones who have access to all the superweapon-level stuff.
There's that one map in VD that's called Mazar Tomb or something, it's just a large field filled with rusted/fossilized NEXTs. Stuff like Answerer is probably a lot harder to recover considering the way it went down. Motherwill broke apart and had a fire, but Answerer crashed to earth and then had it's reactor explode, which is probably at least equivalent to a large nuke going off.
And I'm pretty sure that Destruction is canon, so all the NEXTs were probably trashed pretty thoroughly by Doge.

Hey /acg/, sorry to be a Penny but I haven't attended the last two SNFAs because of finals and a family reunion. I'll try to this weekend if I can.

Check the pastebin or find those ramdom bits of translated stuff from the books.

>they weren't ready to responsibly have access to kojima technology anymore.

I really doubt this, for me it looks more like the league just left the planet, left Chief and Carol in control over what they left on earth (mainly the towers) and then it was pure luck that people start looking into the towers even before the contamination dissapeared. Comes VD time, everyone wants as many towers they can.

Is it? I think it is, yes. Even though I expected it to be more than a pure-text doc with stage direction-style dialogue. Still an interesting read, thanks

Actually, the Foundation Man (Isaac) probably managed to get Chief and Carol's backing. They likely thought that a human wishing to destroy his own kind was different compared to them as AIs doing the same, so they gave him resources, just like the City and Father. It's just another experiment to try and find a way to fulfill their directive of stopping humans from destroying themselves. The Foundation Man's MO is "find the most powerful pilot through process of elimination, then kill them", which the AIs probably thought was worth a shot. If you vaporize all good pilots, the ones that could wreak the most havoc, then maybe that would put an end to the fighting or at least slow it down? Something like that was probably their thought process.
Or maybe it was just Chief being bored and somehow convincing Carol, she seems pretty responsive to him pondering that humans are meant to fight in the final mission of V, knowing full well the potential of humans by experiencing it firsthand against the Dark Raven. She also calls him Sir, so I feel like Chief kinda takes the lead most of the time.
Of course, the Foundation Man's solution also failed. So Chief and Carol are probably still experimenting. Or maybe they're waiting to see what happens when all three sides of the Verdict War tire themselves out on each other or one of them wins. All three factions have different ideologies after all, and they backed Cesar Venide early on. So for all we know they might have instigated the rise of the factions to see which one of their ideologies would succeed.
Also, I think the only reason anyone managed to even get close to the Towers was Chief and Carol giving humans a valuable resource to fight over. Or maybe only the Foundation actually went into the Towers, who knows. I'm sure that if anyone ever found a working Kojima reactor in there, they were probably killed with extreme prejudice by a SAWA-toting, giggling AC. Or several.

>Dark Raven

This will never not make me cringe.

>implying it's as edgy as Strayed
Though someone fill me in, why is the Dark Raven seen as bad?

My headcanon is that Isaac manage to make a gamble with Chief and Carol, since he wanted to destroy humanity, that picked the interest of them, they decide to give it a shot for whatever reason, and upload his mind to a computer. Now, Isaac with the information about all that had happen in the past, and how the Dark Raven and Cesar manage to derail their experiment, he decide he couldnt allow something like that to interfere with his objective (probably causing a never ending war) and create the reaper squad to hunt down any candidate. Also, with the ending of VD that seems to imply that Isaac was going to die, I feel that Chief and Carol finally decide that Isaac option also failed and choose to dispose of him.

I belive they give him that name for his emblem, maybe the canonical emblem could be the burned version of Fran's father/RD AC or the rotten bird that appears in the emblem menu after you finish the story mode. They mention that Ceasar also used a red raven emblem.

Either, because the ones that spread its story was Chief and Carol, also know as god in the legend, or because people got scared of the concept of a human being able to fight mysterious beings like Chief and Carol, that suddlenly appears, offer resource and weapons far beyond what people had at the time and probably help to build a society in the middle of the contaminated world.

WHY IS THERE SO MUCH TOUHOU X AC FANART. THEY ARE NOTHING ALIKE

Cause you could search up fan art for any franchise ever and find Touhou crossovers

bump

Touhou reached a point over the years that can have a crossover with anything. The real question is why Kantai have so much in such short time.
