It seems pretty easy. I don't do it myself but I've seen the drift kids at the race tracks doing their shit on a section that we aren't racing on or on the skidpad or pits. Wide range of cars, lots of shitboxes with welded diffs, lots of shitboxes with LS swaps, and a few riced the fuck out decent cars. Looks like its basically autocross but sideways from what I've seen, probably pretty fun and cheap.

Putting the handbrake and letting off the throttle so powerslide isn't a drift, neither is the lift-off oversteer you get in your shitbox.
