It's reletevely simple really, play aggressive, the more units you kill per turn the less units the enemy has to fuck you over with per turn and with the generic archer manning the right Ballista there is no way the enemy can start to swarm you there with their 4 archers and 2 Lancers.

It's not so much that all Hoshido girls are boring as that they are 'more' boring. They have more stereotypical personalities and like the guys don't tend to have any flaws. I mean there are a few exceptions like Rinkah and obviously Rhajat, though I dunno if they are really treated as such in-universe.

Nohr females are basically more 'damaged' in that they've been through more shit, and as a result aren't always perfect. This is a turn-off to many people who don't like dealing with that, though they would make it sound like their negative traits far outweigh their positive ones.
