I think the old knowledge base from when Jagex actually had useful info on their own website said that wearing outfits obtained from the circus would improve the rewards, but I don't believe anyone's ever figured out which other outfits work.

Generally drop fuck all and shitters don't know how to fight them, think they can just tank everything with SS. I don't skip them just because the xp isn't bad, but their drops are shit. It's obnoxious how rare tusks are when they're meant to be a summoning item. Should be like 1/10.

If they aren't 1/10 they're probably 1/20. An average mammoth task is like 30-50 mammoths and I almost always walk away with between 2 and 4 tusks.

Honestly sounds like you've been immensely unlucky then. Either that or I've just been extremely lucky. They still need to improve their drops though, I agree. All elite slayer monsters' GP/h is way too low considering the effort it takes to kill them. Dark beasts and abyssal demons are more or less 100% afk and will give you so, so much more money in the time it takes you to do any raptor slayer monster task.

You don't go in with melee gear to bully people, you go with ranged/magic so you can bind them in place so that if they're using melee they can't do shit to you.
Going in to wildy with melee without protection is retarded in the first place, Lunar deserved what he got.

What should I be looking for loot-wise when slaying anyways?
Just the loot-beams? Or should I pick up miscellaneous (noted) drops?

I usually take anything over 5k or noted items.
If you have the spaghetti cleaner, definitely use it to handle runite and stuff.

alchables like rune equipment
noted items if valuable like herbs
obviously unique drops where applicable

Area loot and pick up most stuff

For glacors I use legendary pet looting, for airuts I drop something under me and area loot every minute or two, for the rest I only pick up things with loot beams

Anything that stacks.
Pick up rune items and disassemble them.
Bring a gem bag if your task drops a lot of gems (abyssals, gargoyles).
And of course any unique drops.
