Reposting from the old thread.

Looking for a comfy space game, not really interested in doing E:D again.

help

First for comfy spess

>CIG forgot about The Next Great Star Marine contest

1st for thread is complete sucess

It's so fucking great

Can't wait for SPOOKY derelics in spess citizen

Depends on what you want for comfy. I had tons of fun with Rebel Galaxy for a while, but it's really just a broadside simulator and less the "fly into sunset" kinda comfy.

Just to fly about and do fuck all E:D is probably still comfy.

This is also pretty good, but I wouldn't call it comfy. The Alien gets annoying after a while.

Nah some cool designs from a meh animation about some sprint racing. Name is in the filename I think.

Repostan.

Thanks. I'll probably do more space trucking in E:D for the time being

If it were regular torpedoes, it can be difficult, but tiny soft armored ships will probably not be an issue if you bring fighters with you. They would be a prime target of the utmost importance when launched. I don't know how extensive CIG will make their NPC commands for things like controlled warfare, but these would be expected from a void.

But even still, taking down a void is a fucking achievement if I've ever seen one. It's their largest sub-capital ship. I doubt we could ever take down their destroyer (the next largest ship we know of) so the void will have to suffice. Other than a fighter compliment, if the model stays the same as the reveal, it only has about 4 turrets on top with weapons no larger than S3.

I kind of glad. It's a waste of their time for something so insignificant. I'd much rather another, more streamlined TNGS.

Someone post hardsuits

redeemer is still more comfy on the inside

Star Marine and Star Marine contest are two seperate things, the contest is for fans to make mech suits.

Anyone else hype for Objects in Space?

>redeemer
>more comfy than beta

what are you smoking? Whatever it is, I need some.

Paul please. Your coffee kitchen doesn't belong in a gunship.

Thanks, so happy to see my shipfu in the game.

What originally made me fall in love with spacesims was the different shaped ships on the front box of Privateer. The fact that you could make your own choice which of these totally different looking ships was your own and then go on spess adventures with it just blew my mind.

And then when we finally got a successor with SC, 90% of all ships are spaceplanes.

jesus, torpedoes are useless in ED
>fire torpedoes
>keep shooting at target
>target dead before torpedoes hit

But how else will I engage in high fidelity space cooking? The "Gunship" part is just to keep people away from attacking my oven, do you know how dificult it is for a souffle to rise in zero gravity? It get's all puffy then collapses when gravity is enabled.

for the best, I don't want any more community involvement in the design process. yes, we'd see better work than what CIG can do, and like TNGS we'd see it flushed down the toilet upon completion in favour of something shitty because there was a girl on the team.

beta needs the ability to casually sprawl around those couches. also, it's gonna need a little suit locker so you can sprawl around in comfort
>all the toilets and showers in tiny ships and they never even considered where people will change
I'd bet money that every ship that has a small shitter room will see it turned into a changing booth because we could actually use that

>5e
they've already iterated that many times?

>where people will change
All of these ships with showers, toilets and beds have more interior open space than most tents used for camping and people somehow manage to change in a tent. So, I wouldnt get too autistically caught up on that fact.

>100

From long time ago they said it's possible to do hundreds or more together, and they reaffirmed this in a recent PCgamers interview shortly after the magazine. While I don't expect that amount being possible with current tech, I think it's important to note. Of course it's all just talk until they blow us away with more than 150 ships on screen with stable FPS above 45 with players, NPCs, everything.

>changing rooms
>being relevant to space ship design

I know they added shit like little coffee mugs and all, but adding more useless shit is a waste of resources and time.

anyone tried racing it yet?

youtube.com/watch?v=h2_lE8ZnAHM&feature=youtu.be

Yep

slick

I hope they still do it, I need mechs in my spess

oh god I never even thought about the starting tunnel
they really need to get that horizontal fastmode locked down

I have to wonder because I don't remember, will the M50 be available at some point again?

That gun is underwhelming.

>2 years later and people are still assblasted the best ship won TNGS

anyway

what's the hot new meta ship now for shitting on people

watching that vid, you really get a feel for how tall the ship is just by the way the guy flies, it looks like a totally different experience, like being up in the Slave I. looks pretty neato, coming from someone who had no interest beyond shooting at it until now.

Yeah, sure. Either at Gamescom next friday or the anniversary sale in mid-late November.

>tfw still waiting to land on atmospheric planets

Why did you rice it mang?

How much did these go for again?

stop choosing gay OP pics user
but at least the nu mans bait is gone from the OP

>5 shots pirate
>underwelming

The connie can mount four of these.

When 2.5 drops on the normal servers will they reset monies and items again?

Its power isn't underwhelming. The sound and muzzle flash is. It just doesn't feel powerful.

We need a drawfag to make some erotic ED and SC pilots drinking at a bar with their ships visible outside the window

erotic because it's highly implied they're going to FUCK each other afterwards

yeah but what they actually need gameplay-wise is a place to swap gearsets as they have now, even if it's only a wall texture you click on that looks like a locker, as they have by the airlocks on olisar

this isn't useless shit, it's the one aesthetic 'fidelity' thing they could add that would actually be relevant to gameplay.

That reminds me, what happened to shipfu user?

[chuckling sounds in background intensifies]

Too bad, I can only draw ships but not people and my holidays just ended.

Carrick ara ara obviously

He isn't aware that /scg/ is back and currently has been hanging around /swcg/ in /co/

but will the ed pilot or the SC pilot be the girl?

>but will the ed pilot or the SC pilot be the girl?
how about both

>nebula art
>gay

found the fag

Hopefully they can get that shit working in the game by Feb.

It'd be relevant to RP niggers, not any career in the game. Beds will be useful for logging out and shit, and apparently NPCs will do stuff with drinks. There's no more need to add more fluff to the game when there are guns, ships, places, and other objects to be made that are more important than a fucking room dedicated to clicking a button for a different outfit.

Well I just googled and apparently it was $80, that might be worth the swap just to have it over the 325a.

Just bought a vive

If elite any good with it? Cant remember the last ship I had, it was the sexy bounty hunter one

I don't know if this will ever be needed but in case it starts to come up more in 2.5 here is how to find Hex without out getting a wanted level.

Originally it was $80, but they raised it to 100 a while ago.

what stuff are you going to do with drinks when you've got a helmet on? it's good for more than RP because eventually you won't be able to pilot in anything heavier than medium armor, so anyone who wants to fly their ship will need either a way to change or never wear more than a basic level of protection.

Oh well that's $30 difference then.

That thing any good in fights/interception? I suppose the better question is, can I put two huge cannons on it and just boom-zoom everyone?

>mfw putting something on the far side of a moon actually makes it difficult to find
I always thought that was a cheesy explanation in any universe with readily available space travel, never having considered the actual distances involved.

generic boring nebula shot #2935
yeah thats gay

That's why lockers exist dumbass. They hold wardrobe equipment that you put in there. you change it when you need it.

>wear regular EVA suit in case you need to eject
>go to locker after landing to put on heavy armor if you need to go outside

Is it that hard to understand? This does not need a dedicated room.

y r u so meen user :(

Another question I have is, would a Vanguard Warden be any good for boom and zooming folks?

I specifically said it wouldn't need to be an actual room you silly fucker. but if they decided some of them could be it would be an actual use for/viable replacement of the existing bathrooms, without taking more than the effort of a USE button and a texture or two to swap if they wanted to. and you know they want to. I'm not cheerleading the idea here, just saying I bet it will happen because that's the kind of thing CIG does.

Vanguard is not good for anything and gets shit on by the Constellation which costs more or less the same.

>Vanguard is not good for anything and gets shit on by the Constellation which costs more or less the same.
Wouldnt that change though when armor is implemented?

>boom and zoom

No. In the newest meta, Constellations are the heavy hitters you want. And for "zoom" you may want to wait on the Buccaneer. It's current concept is a lightish fighter with very good weapons.

Constellations are a way bigger target and will be no way near as sustainable as Vanguards or as suitable for pure combat, plus as the other user said, armour isn't implemented yet.

Welcome to /scg/ /edg/

We desperately need a drawfag, I can barely get FUN to this

Armor can't fix the fact that it's massively undergunned compared to even ships like the Freelancer and is lacking strong shields. I'm not sure how familiar you are with the new shield system, but a Hornet has (is supposed to have) 4 small shield slots which can mount 4 small or 1 medium shield. 1 medium is as strong as 5 small.
Anyway, the Vanguard has 2 banks of 3 small, effectively resulting in 6..let's call them 'shield points' vs 5 on the Hornet running a medium shield while being a significantly larger and smaller target.

Sabre with broadswords or panthers with rattler missiles, or the super hornet of course.

Fair enough on the size and sustainability, but it's very, very hard to look away from the 4 S5 guns, the portable fighter, endless missiles, 2 turrets, and cargo space to boot.

We need video of the new constellation dogfighting ASAP. I heard maneuverability is different across the board for most ships. of course, I wasn't invited to the party. Upload to YT pls

Surely /scg/ would be a bitchy girl and /edg/ would be a DILF?

Yeah you shouldn't get too carried away with working out metas in the PU, at the moment they are just trying to get everything flying to the bare minimum functionality. Balance comes way later, we've already see how brutal they can be with the Freelancer.

E:D storage fucking when? Game is fucking unplayable when you get interdicted every single time you enter supercruise.

Yeah but the vanguard can utterly destroy a hornet if you aim well in 4 seconds.

I have a super hornet and a vanguard and I much prefer the vanguard truthfully and I dont expect that to change once armor is implemented.

Further, when comparing a long range fighter to christ roberts shipfu it seems sort of silly, seeing as the Constellation is just fucking retardedly strong given its size. I dont expect the Constellation ever getting a downgrade on anything given that fact too.

>we've already see how brutal they can be with the Freelancer
>space truck
>still has quad gimbaled S3 guns
>still has 10+ missiles
Brutal indeed.

>We need video of the new constellation dogfighting ASAP
I'll try and record something in a couple of minutes.

>storage
?

...

like a storage chest that can be accessed from stations

das good shit mane

...

oh my

>$90 hull B has 384 cargo units
>$140 freelancer max has 123 cargo units
>$150 constellation taurus has 243 cargo units
Why is this allowed?

...

would be funnier to have the ships 69ing

10/10, came buckets

>why do different ships with different intended purposes yet some overlap differ?
Why bother posting?

The Hull Series carries their caro externally, which isn't exactly protected. It's basically the difference between a flat bed truck and a container truck. You'll want to carry high-value cargo via internally stored ships.

This is also an advantage the merchantman has.

was about to respond but took what I would have said. Reconsider life

Uguu

I-is that a space tomcat?

...

These are all cargo ships with the same intented purpose.

Welcome to your space waifu, user. She's called the Aegis Sabre.

what's the largest base on a planet in ED?

The hull series is meant to transport a large amount of goods in a manner that leaves it open to attack.

The other two ships you mentioned are meant to transport smaller amount of goods in a more secure manner.

Why are you comparing them?

first off the price of the ship is irrelevant since you will eventually be able to get them in game without RL money (and their core mechanics aren't in anyway) unless if you want to support with mo moneez

Secondly, the Hull series are purely dedicated to cargo hauling from point A to point B. The Andromeda and Freelancer can carry cargo as well, but not as much. A trade off, but they have much better ways of putting up a fight and defending their cargo if attacked. Hull series ships will need larger escorts than ships that have their cargo within the hull itself.

fuck me that thing's sexy

You guys sound like a bunch a NERDS

rude

...

Outside of the stupid cutout just before the inlets that's pretty sexy.

Where can I get one?

No. It's good in a fight in that it's hard to hit and you can run the fuck away in a pinch... But you probably won't be killing anyone with it either.
