STREET VENDOR

ITT: You give tips and hints about how to offer and sell products on the street.

I'll start vending sweeties today and i want to know the best marketing strategies to make real money out of it. (Everybody who works as street vendors here earns more than the minimum wage)

If you want to sell something, make sure 100 other people aren't already selling it.

Switch up your wares. Hot days = bottled water, etc

I never sold stuff on the street but I used to sell candy and soda in school. Always did pretty well, never had to advertise. Everyone wanted it and nobody had it.

wear clean and bright colored clothes, easy to spot

make alot of noise. bells, or by shouting

have tasty treats and refreshments

>clean
This - wouldn't you rather buy from someone who doesn't stink like shit?

Thank you all, folks.

If you're selling used merch, make sure to have some interesting big items to draw people in. I like to use the halo master chief helmet. Ask too much for it so no one buys it, but sell a lot of cheap smalls related to it

Good idea, but i am going to sell sweet treats.

its almost october, do you think you're a little bit too late? The season usually is during spring or summer

EVERYBODY loves chocolate.

Expand with dragon dildos
Ladies take their kids to the park
And pokemon stuff for the kids
Kids also love slow cooked in the sun Jaw Breakers

>Hot chocolate in the winter.

Don't ever fucking talk to the police beyond what you have to.
Make sure the local authorities aren't anti-business socialist scum.
Secure your shit overnight.
Keep your fucking supplies up.

I was a street trader for about six months. Supplier/boss dicked me around, council dicked me around, police cracked down on the whole industry on council orders, and I just walked the fuck away from the whole thing one day.

when you sell shit to someone, it has to be something youd want to buy your self. you must have the customer trust you, because everyone has the preconceived notion that salesman are evil. and then after, establish a relationship with them for the product. thats true salesmanship, not saying ey yo wanna buy my shit ok bye.

this is true, if youre selling beauty products, you have to actually look attractive.

i dont think he was talking about weed dude

Smile, engage people as they go by, push samples on them, sell a product that tastes good so you can be sincere. I've sold at fm before and sampling makes a big difference.

I was selling scarves. Employers didn't even cut me in on the drug smuggling they were probably doing.

I was thinking of starting some kind of food cart on campus, but I didn't know if that was frowned upon.

I don't. I don't even eat sweets or candies

BEEEEEEIGNEET

There's a guy in my area who sells boiled peanuts in a variety of flavors. He even has a business card.
Supposedly he hangs out on the side of the road or someshit with his old lady. My mom had bought some and let me taste them and I was like I should step in on this guy's business. He's selling his shit in Styrofoam cups with plastic wrap and for the last few weeks I've been brainstorming ideas of how to up that. Make it more flashy and cleaner looking. I've even sketched up a few logos and came up with names that would be fun and memorable.
Also in my state there is no need for a license to sell boiled peanuts.
Put in the money and time and see if I can grow this thing into a regional boiled peanut business would be my end goal.
