Depends. Is it the vanilla version or TTK? You're basically fucked if it's the vanilla version, plus the Xbone has a slightly smaller playerbase than the PS4 for Destiny.

If it's the TTK Legendary Edition, then take it. You're getting vanilla, The Dark Below, House of Wolves and Taken King for $10, a steal. Then, you'll be ready for Rise of Iron.
Like what said, Xbone has a slightly smaller player base, but you won't notice it unless you actually look at numbers. The only "significant" difference is that PlayStation gets a couple of exclusives, like weapons and crucible maps.

The main perk you need is Rifled Barrel. Anything else is more of a bonus.
