RB3 has no plot. It was literally made only to appease people that hate plot and characters. All the characters are flanderized. There's a reason nothing in RB3 matters in V-II. They only mention RB3 once in passing. And the two characters that are "in" RB3 are introduced in V-II as well so it's not like you won't know who they are. Also they use one joke the entire game. It's awful. Also everything is a reused asset.

The fighting system actually gets revamped. It's still the turn based arena fighting, but attack combos are completely different now.

As for Uni, that is absolutely bullying. I can't speak for anyone else as I am not a shitlord that considers my own line of thinking is the same as everyone else's opinion like you are but if I had to guess it is probably because the only other form of bullying Uni gets is about her boobs shrinking when she transforms.
As for the hyperdimension route, the only reason she mentions it is because the plot has gone to complete shit and everything is out of her control.
The game and everyone in it constantly bullied her but the difference in VII is that she isn't immediately breaking down to tears when it happens.
