how good are mantas? there's a few that aren't that pricey on the local used car sites and they look pretty neat
pretty good imho.
The days of dirt cheap mantas are long gone though. It's not terribly large or heavy, RWD, IRS. Engines are meh, but there's potential and bits are available. And mechanicals in general are robust.
rust protection is average 80s, so kinda shit.
imho it doesn't take much to make them look cool.

Tickets are probably sold out though.
I think you can watch for free or for the small camping fee all around the Nordschleife public places. Tickets are for pit lane and the stands.

Anywhere other than the stands and pit area is a major PITA if you stay there for the full 3 days though.

Depends, I have a camping chair and I know several people all around the track, one camps at Schwalbenschwanz, one at Adenauer Forst. Just hopp on the shuttle bus and drive to a different location.
Quiddelbacher Höhe I nearly crashed right at the bridge, last time I was there ...

Hatzenbach from Hocheichen, you get to see all along from entry Hatzenbach all through the several bends down Hocheichen nearly all down to Quiddelbacher Höhe

Hatzenbach because I really learned to nail that combination of bends (and I love combinations of bends) even though I *nearly* crashed at Quiddelbacher Höhe right afterwards.

especially that it goes downhill looks like a lot of fun and potential for accident

Yeah well, that only really counts at tourist laps. In a race there's no refreshing at the end/start of a lap.
