Need recommendations for camping dual-sport/adventure bike.
Needs to carry camping gear. Needs to do highways for hours (probably around 3-4 but as long as 8)
Needs to do dirt logging roads and possibly trails.
Needs to be affordable and reasonable maintenance.

4 years isn't that long and 7k isn't that much, stick it out, it'll feel better getting something you've worked for anyway. There's also no guarantee that you'll even want the same bike in four years.

Nah, but I have other dreams with larger costs and timespans and I stand by what I said, it's worth saving it up yourself.
That said, it's your dream so fulfill it in whatever way you see fitting. Maybe compromise? Work two years and save up half the amount? The main problem is that you're more vulnerable with loan, if something goes wrong you're straight down the shitter. Even if you have a comfortable job right now there's really no guarantee that you'll keep it. Maybe the bike wasn't as nice in reality as in your dream?
I don't know the details of your life, a loan might be worth it, just make sure you've thought through all possible consequences and that you're okay with them or have a backup plan to handle them, even the unlikely/shitty ones.
