/nmsg/ No Man's Sky general. Space Sim edition.

Out right now for PS4, PC release on Friday the 12th.

>What is this game?
A relaxing procedurally generated space exploration game with some combat and trading.

>What do you do in the game?
From the HG website, no-mans-sky.com/2016/08/what-do-you-do-in-no-mans-sky/

>Is there multiplayer?
We want people to be aware they are in a shared universe. We added online features, and some Easter Eggs to create cool moments

First for you don't understand this game

2nd for 2spooky for me.

inb4 spore 2

Would one of those Easter eggs be Distress signals? I went towards one and got attacked by like 18 ships.

is this game fun?

You guys should check out Procedural World if you're actually interested in good procedural generation.

procworld.blogspot.com/

Note that everything in this picture is made with voxels, like Minecraft but less blocky, so it's completely editable.

Am I the only one who wish it had even LESS gameplay to it?

The fun parts of the game are aimlessly exploring and looking at cool scenery, but the game forces you to constantly be mining for resources just to not die/get stuck 99% of the time.

You should only be needing resources to create new shit or on particularly hazardous planets, not fucking all of them.

I wish there was a free roam mode, like minecraft's creatice/easy mode.

Also, FUCKING GAMESTOP had to cancel my limited edition and only gave me a normal version of the game, is there scans of the comic and artbook yet?

>I wish the comfy easy game was even easier. Why can't they remove the game play parts of the game?

water worlds creep me out.

imagine the fuckhuge monsters out there in their own deep endless oceans.

ffuugg

torrent where

When is it supposed to come out?

12th, stop asking every single thread. It's in the OP

pc trailer pls

or just a teaser

even just a screenshot

pls

Here you go

>GOG already has game for 25% off steam price

Alright I'm in then.

Never. It's just a tool/program for other devs to use. But it's a good example of what procedural generation can do instead of shit like NMS.

I got my first atlas stone

What do I do with it? Just sell it for a shitload of space shekels?

>Am I the only one who wish it had even LESS gameplay to it?
yes.

There is a game for you, it's called "Space Engine" and it's free.

No preload on PC release tomorrow.

The steam servers are going to get nailed to the floor.

>jump to neutral color system
>closest planet is a green wonderland with vast oceans and caves
>stay at that system for hours
>jump
>red system with rock planets
>jump
>another red system with even more baren rock planets

This game is actively making me hate it more.

Save them, you need them for Atlas Pass and other things later on I believe.

...

my picture doesnt do it justice, but this place was so fucking cool. a monolith in the middle of a deep canyon that went on for miles with a high ridge on one side

Here's the only PC version screenshot we've ever seen.

land vehicles when

with regular content updates this game could actually be great

what the fuck

Alright niggers

Post ships and rate/10

does it take a warp cell to travel to previously visited galaxies?

Right, but NMS has a higher level of detail then SE does, and it has plants and animals. So it has stuff SE doesn't.

If I'm the one to make the next OP again I'll use this image. I'm not even mad about it, I just think this meme is funny.

Landmark uses Voxel Farm. No idea if it has random terrain or just autistic house making.

minor spoiler about the random generation of spaceships:

they come in metallic bronze, silver and gold colours rarely

...

so what is at the centre?

intergalactic drive?

Does everyone roughly start 170 thousand odd lightyears from the center?

...

Nothing at center, you just start at a new galaxy

torrent, when?

Now I know why they never talked about gameplay features and thats because it doesnt have any. It is a nature walk simulator with a nature destroying laser.

See

[TRIGGERED]

All I want is to get out of work so I can play NMS. I have to meet people after work too. Why even live?

But user, that's today.

What had you thought it was from the few hours of game play footage they released over the last 2 years?

>not being neet

Just bail on them. Real life isn't like sitcoms. People will forget you were even invited.

It shows as full price for me :(

Puzzles maybe? An in depth story line? Fucking something entertaining

And what does that tell you?
Literally none of that was ever shown or hinted at. That said it has basic versions of those things.

>And what does that tell you?
It tells me there simply has to be a torrent.

>implying they didn't already make a years full of free updates to steadily dribble over the communities head

There aren't enough neetbux in the world to fund my lavish lifestyle unfortunately
B-but my friends, they c-care about me

No, it should tell you that it will be out today. The game releases in about 18 hours on pc, so expect 19 hours for a torrent as there's a GoG release.

If they were REALLY your friends, they'd understand that you're tired from work, you want to go to sleep. You're not actually sleeping though, you're just playing vidja. If they don't understand at least that, then they're not worthy of being your friend.

Its releasing in exactly 18 hours
So if you are living in the actually civilized part of the world, it's more 13th than 12th

youtube.com/watch?v=Mgfxo3CLdNM

It's official, game sucks.

Do you think the updates will be free user? If they charge for DLC I'll be sad.

>tfw no friends
>tfw finishing work before pc release
>tfw can play all weekend
Feels pretty good and I'm totally not slowly dying on the inside

You mean civilized as in China or maybe India?

will there be a fahrenheit option added in an update

But guise, I want to play it now.

I'm going to let my phone autogenerate a post based on other things I've written starting with the phrase 'No Man's Sky'

No Man's Sky General information about the good dinosaur the game is fine but I didn't record it is a condition of the time of the call of duty free to contact me today and save up to you and your family and friends to the bank for overdraft and fees and charges are payable to the bank...

I think I need to call my bank

They say honesty is the cornerstone of any good friendship Senpai. What I'm taking away from this is that friends are overrated.. And one should avoid all human contact. A-at least my lizard brethren the Gek Jews don't judge me.

God I fuckin hope so. I'm fine using Celsius but I hate mentally converting it.
Just use fucking Kelvin.

>shit posters opinion
You fucking better believe it. LAWL NO MULTIPLAYER

>non shitposters opinion
Hard to say. I vaguely remember someone mentioning that all updates are free?

It has stuff SE doesn't have until the russian gets 40 grand to do some shit

Then buy a ps4

Your doing it right user, God speed.

Fellow USfag here, just remember that 0 celsius is when water freezes and 40 is water boiling or some shit.

Why? Anything outside 0 to 40 is starting to get dangerous. That's all you need to know.

>mfw buddy works at gamestop
>mfw he i slip him a $20 after my $60 preorder and he earmarks person collectors copies for me, him, and 5 other buds
>mfw i find out he just picks names at random off the collectors edition preorderers list, calls them up, and apologizes that they didn't get enough copies shipped
>mfw we laugh our asses off about this the second he hangs up and someone shouts the next letter of the alphabet to target

he confirmed no 3d life though
and cities limited to lights on the night side, like earth right now

Celsius is easy. Water freezes at 0 and boils at 100. - 40 Celsius is the same as Fahrenheit.

No. Water boils at 100°C. It freezes at 0°C. Human body temperature is 36°C. Hope that helps.

Yeah, it's gonna be more like a space travel sim than surface exploration

I'm willing to pay up to 40 dollars for a steam key
that's the highest I'd want to go

Can I even find that?
Please help me

>he tweets the pc release times
>doesnt give us any gameplay

GoG.
gog.com/game/no_mans_sky

>ok little user today we are learning convoluted as fuck imperial units of measurement
>now we are learning metric
>now you have to memorize conversions between the two
>oh you want to do science? we don't bother with imperial you dumbfuck

Man if I was gonna get it on GOG I might as well pirate it. I want a Steam key.

Not all locations get a discount on GOG for NMS.

It's the same price as Steam here.

its £40 on steam here

guess thats like 50 dollars

i don't need a lecture cunts, i just wanna know if the devs plan on adding the system of measurement used in the country that bought the most copies of their game

full $60 actually

$60?

Really? It doesn't show a discount it just happens to be 25% less than Steam's price.

Maybe G2A sometime after release

Is there any way to increase the amount of plutonium your takeoff booster thing can store

I fucking hate reloading every four landings

60€ for me
same as steam

pretty smoll

If you land on a pad its free to take-off.

it was a joke from the developer

someone asked if there would be fov for pc and they sent this screenshot

I can convert between the three, but I grew up with Fahrenheit.
That's it. I'm lazy. That's literally the issue at hand here.

wait wut

When there are only 100 assets and an algorithm, yeah.

This game is ankle deep.

I didn't know. It's $62 AUD for me, which is $65NZD which is $47USD. Steam is $90NZD which is $65USD

Steam downloads are usually 7zip'd so uncompressed will be about 6-9GB.

>launch booster is out of fuel
>find a ship call beacon
>call my ship
>it lands, even though it doesn't have any fuel

Well shit. Does GOG let you gift games?

I'm just walking around this planet, gathering resources....

Where's the gameplay?
